Withthehelpof 95 Founderstodateandcountless other donors,inour first eight yearswehave investedroughly $13 milliondollarsintothe Vineyardcommunity - $8 millioningrantsand$5 millioninscholarships.Wehavemade21 grantsto local youthservingorganizationsandsupported76 studentswitheducational scholarships

Buildingonthesuccessof our Pilot Project,wewill roll out theFamily ChildCare Capital NeedsProject in2023! TheIsland AutismGroup(IAG),isawell-establishednon-profit that servesautistic childrenand their familiesonMartha?sVineyard.Sinceitsinception,IAGhashelped autisticchildrenontheislandaccessextracurricular programs,equipment andany other resourcesnecessary and beneficial for their development IAGhasdevelopeda visionof anIslandAutismCenter,aplaceonMartha?sVineyardwherechildrenand adultswithautismcan livelifetotheir fullest potential Thisambitiousplanwill offer housingandprograms,including:
- A Hub Housetoserveasabasefor day programming,offices,commercial kitchen,library,mediaroom,gatheringspace,and livingspacefor interns and guest lecturers

TheVineyardMontessori School (VMS)toddler classroomshavebeenfull sincethe doorsopened intheFall of 2021 Thetwoclassroomsoffer 18 childrenbetweenthe agesof 15 monthsand3 yearsoldanincredibly richexperienceandworkingfamiliesa safeandwonderful placement for their children. Our dataindicatesthat thisaddition hasmadeadifferenceandisincredibly successful Thesuccesscanbemeasuredin,not only,itsability to stay fully enrolledwith18 childrendaily,but inadditionit is "feeding" thepreschool classrooms,whicharecurrently full for the2023-2024 school year. Inaddition,wewereabletoincreasethenumber of spacesinour preschool classroomto19 VMSiscurrently thelargest early childhoodprogramontheisland with77 childcarespaces Thishasmadeadifferenceinour community,and weare thankful for therolethat MVYouthplayed insupportingthisexpansion Wearenow lookingtothefuture! Mission: To provide a residential vacation camp for people with disabilitieswhile providing respite for camper's caregivers. We provide recreation and enrich the livesof our campersby creating a supportive environment that promotes the fulfillment of human potential and fosters independence and self-determination; we strive to be a community that is an example of inclusivity, love, and mutuality
CAMPJABBERWOCKYISBACK! After several summersof limited?live? programmingbecauseof COVID,wehad anearly normal returntoCampactivitiesin 2022 It wasasummer of fun,friendships,beach-going,drumming,artsandcrafts, dancing,goats,llamas,sailing,fishing,boating,icecream,Sharksbaseball,music, writing,bi-planes,archery,talent shows,picnics,cook-outs,andjoy for our 140 campers,including17 new campers! A small,early outbreak forcedsomelast-minute re-shuffling(evenvaccinated,our campersareuniquely vulnerableto COVID),but we werehappy towelcomecampersoldand new Our Jabberwebbyvirtual programs alsocontinued for thosewho couldnot attend inperson
Becausewewereabletowinterizemorecabinsduringthepandemic,Family Camp wasalsoback Webrought together 65 peoplein19 familiesover twoweekendsin lateAugust and September. Our waitinglistsarelong(664 for summer campand256 for Family Camp),sowewereexcitedtobeableto invitefivenew familiesthisyear
Of the150 volunteerswhohelpedkeepeveryonesafeand tomakeCampmagical, thereweremany new and aspiringhealthcareprofessionals,includinggraduate studentsinnursing,speech,and languagefromNortheasternUniversity,aswell as our usual complement of new andreturninghighschool and collegestudents,under theguidanceof CaitlinLamb(granddaughter of founder Helen?Hellcat?Lamb)and AvisOlsen,our stellar campprogramdirectors.

It mademefeel fortunatetohear fromsomeoneinvolvedingovernment and watch civicproceduresupclose Andontopof that,I took a computer scienceclass,whichjumpstartedanew lovefor programming,asI delvedintocodingpuzzle games,rudimentary artificial intelligence,anda Super MarioBros clone
But ultimately,I wasdrawntoAmherst becauseof itscommunity,andthat mademy experiencespecial Thecollegeissimultaneously insular and all-encompassing,withaclubfor every interest I wasinvolvedwithQuizBowl,Model UN,our outing club,andhelped get our runningclub active I?vemet several like-minded friendsand someof my favorite timeshavebeenexploringthemany roadsandtrails inwesternMassachusetts I bikeevery weekend,and discoveredthemysteriousnight-timerun!
