“I have also helped parents by workshopping them on how to take care of children when they are at home ”
“Firstly I got into the ECD sector as a way of earning a salary and due to the fact that I I started to work in the ECD field in 1998 as a pre-school praconer at the United Apostolic Crèche, where I worked as a supervisor. I was trained by Faranani trust under Ntataise. From there I started a new crèche at the new development area of Mavhunga RDP Houses called Mulisawandela in Vhembe in 2002. In 2003 I was appointed to be a trainer and field worker at Faranani Trust and I worked there unl 2011. In 2012, I started a new crèche called Kindergarden at Makungwi village. In the same year, Faranani closed and I moved to Thusanang Trust as a trainer and I am sll working there. My love of children that started when I was teaching in Sunday School. I did my first training with CAN training before I worked in a pre-school. I have inspired other people by training them to be beer ECD praconers and helping them to obtain a qualificaon. I have also helped parents by workshopping them on how to take care of children when they are at home . I was encouraged by Terry Morgan to do Ilifalabantwana on SABC Radio (Phalaphala) where I reached many people and explained to them about how children develop and learn, child protecon and discipline.
I have given several workshop to social workers of Vhembe district (Limpopo) about the new curriculum framework (NCF) The first person who inspired me was Rev Nengovhela who applied for me to go to do ECD training at CAN training centre in Pretoria. I had a bursary offered by the N.G Church before I worked in a pre-school. The second person was Gilly Boschoff from Faranani Trust who appointed me to be in the field of doing training for praconers of pre-schools. She encouraged me to do a degree in educaon (foundaon phase) through UNISA and also supported me financially. The next person was Terry Morgan of Thusanang Trust who took over from Gilly Boschoff by helping me to finish my studies. Terry sent me to be trained about NCF, and organised NCF workshops with the Vhembe district social workers. “
