Hispanic-inspired Spring Drinks

Hispanic-inspired Spring Drinks
Coming from a Hispanic background, I remember growing up around so many delicious food and drinks from our culture. Particularly my favorite different treats and drinks which are highlighted in three of Flora’s signature drinks: Strawberry Horchata, Grapefruit Mangonada, & Pineapple Hibiscus The Strawberry Horchata spring drink originated from my obession with Horchata (rice-milk drink). Although, there is a strawberry version of this drink which is where it stemmed from The Mangonada Mexican dessert (mango sorbet and chamoy topped with chili powder) inspired the Grapefruit Mangonada drink as its spin-off Lastly, the Pineapple Hibiscus spring drink was inspired by what is known as Agua de Jamaica (Hibiscuswater)
Flora (meaning plant-life) is a company that specializes in producing spring drinks inspired by Hispanic culture. As part of our launch, our first three signature drinks will dive into some popular drinks and treats.

The Horchata drink is a rice-milk drink with cinnamon. This drink roots back to the Ancient Egyptians The drink they made incorporated barley and was known as a safe and refreshing source of nutrients; variations of this ancient beverage continue in parts of North Africa till today. The barley-based horchata was less creamy than the modern version, but it was just as refreshing However, the global fame of horchata is attributable to a Spanish region –Valencia On the other hand, determining the precise period of when Mexican horchata came into existence is challenging due to limited historical documentation However, it is generally agreed that the horchata, along with other foods and beverages made its way to Mexico following the Spanish colonization in the16thcentury.
Rice, cinnamon, and almonds are left to soak overnight in water, then blended all up with the condensed milk and vanilla in the morning, with added strawberries
