Page 1

WELCOME TO MUTATIONS

This year we’re proud to be delivering our biggest ever edition of Mutations. Over 100 of the most innovate and inspiring acts touring right now will perform in 9 of Brighton’s most treasured Grassroots Music Venues across 5 incredible days of live music.

Crossing more genres and nationalities than ever before, Mutations Festival 2024 is our boldest, broadest and most diverse line-up to date and unquestionably one of the most extensive line-ups for an intimate festival you’ll find in the UK.

This year we’ve had the privilege of working closer than ever with our acts and are proud to deliver our first artist curated line-up. Tuesday will see 5 acts perform that were handpicked by the Irish breakthrough punk-rock band Sprints. Their impeccable taste brings us a coherent yet diverse event crossing, punk, electro, grunge and pop.

Wednesday at Mutations 24 represents a bold sonic departure for the festival as we welcome the Grammy winning Pakistani-American artist Arooj Aftab to Chalk in support of her phenomenal new album ‘Night Reign’. Performing alongside Arooj are some of our favourite jazz, experimental and contemporary world artists including Alabaster DePlume, Zsela and Sheherazaad.

This year’s edition also sees our first full rap bill at Mutations with a headlining set from the mysterious rapper Casisdead, hot off winning the Brit Award for best UK Rap Act. Known for his blend of dystopian futurism and 80s-inspired synthpop, Cas’ world is one of vice, crime and faded glamour, a reflection of the seedy underbelly of modern society. Joining Cas on Thursday are Mutations regulars Grove; UK Grime royalty Novelist; and three of the scenes most exciting artists, Oscar #Worldpeace, Elijah and Jammz

Friday sees the disco-punk kings Warmduscher return to Mutations for a rightful headline slot in support of their incredible new album ‘Too Cold to Hold’. In a truly international day, Friday sees British breakthrough artists such as Lime Garden, Ugly, Willie J Healey and Honesty perform alongside some of the hottest acts currently breaking out of America, including Font, Wishy, Friko, Bloomsday, and Slow Fiction.

Closing the festival on Saturday we couldn’t be prouder to have the most important band on the planet right now, Northern Ireland’s politically charged rap-punk breakthrough act Kneecap, who in the time since we booked them to perform at Mutations have gone stratospheric; this will undoubtably be one of the last chances to catch the band in such an intimate environment. Headlining alongside Kneecap is the American, now adopted Brit, BC Camplight, who’s recent album ‘The Last Rotation of Earth’ was our album of the year in 2023. His raw emotion, vulnerability and open narrative into the darker matters of life separate him from the rest of the field, he’s truly in a songwriting league of his own and live is an absolute delight. Joining them on the bill on Saturday are also over 50 of the most exciting acts on the road this touring season.

We invite you to lean into this year’s bold line-up, take a chance on a new artist you’ve never heard of and experience a diverse line-up built as a celebration of musical eclecticism.

As ever, we’d like to thank all the bands, partners, agents, managers and venues that continue to believe in our vision for Mutations Festival.

Finally, we’d also like to thank you for your continued support, we’ve been truly humbled by the demand for tickets this year and as ever we applaud your enthusiasm and spirit! Enjoy your long weekend in Brighton.
