DELHI'S CULTURE LANGUAGE

More than 80% of the Delhi population speaks Hindi. The remaining population prefers Punjabi, Bengali, Urdu, and others.

Just like any other region of India

RELIGION AND TRADITIONS 89 percent of Delhi population is Hindu.

About 4.5 percent are Muslims, 0.4 percent are Jains, 2.0 percent are Sikhs, and 2.9 percent are Christians. Buddhists, Jews, and Parsis can also be found here.

DELHI'S ARCHITECTURE The Architecture of Delhi dates back more than a thousand years. As the capital of several great empires of India, including Rajput kingdom, Delhi Sultanate, Mughal Empire, and British Raj, the city of Delhi has been a center for architecture.

It has been a Temple city, a Mughal city, a Colonial and a Post-Colonial city. It prides itself as a city that serves as the testimonial of various period pieces. Its architectural heritage, along with multiple other elements of culture, is a visual evidence of its multifaceted characters.

Traditional architecture is essentially different from modern architecture in terms of the materials and methods of construction and their durability. FAMOUS ARCHITECTURE

Delhi, India’s capital territory, is considered to be the city with a heart. The city is dotted with many top tourist attractions which make it must visit place once in your lifetime. It is more famously known for its history and culture.

Red Fort

Red Fort, also called Lal Qila is one of the most famous monument of India that symbolizes the era of Mughal emperors in India. Built in 1638, it’s a magnificent monument located in the center of Delhi and houses a number of museums. The fort has also been recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2007.

Qutub Minar Built in 1193 by Qutab-ud-din Aibak, Qutub Minar is one of the tallest minaret in the world. The 73-meter tall tower has five distinct storeys, The first three storeys are made of red sandstone while marble and sandstone were used to construct the last two storeys. At the foot of the tower is the Quwwat-ul-Islam Mosque, the first mosque to be built in India.

Jama Masjid Jama Masjid is one of the largest mosques in India with a courtyard capable of holding 25,000 devotees.

The mosque took six years to build and is one of the finest example of Mughal architecture. It has three great gates, four towers & two minarets made from a combination of red sandstone and white marble.

Humayun Tomb Located in the eastern part of Delhi, Humayun’s tomb was built in the year 1570 , and houses the body of the second Mughal emperor, Humayun. It is recognized as the World Heritage Site by UNESCO because of the brilliant architectural beauty. The architecture of the tomb is strongly influenced by Persian architecture.
