THE CONVERT (Praying to whom ?) opera in 2 acts on a libretto by Krystian Lada and after the novel De bekeerlinge by Stefan Hertmans, composed in 2019-2021 commissioned by Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, Muziektheater Transparant and Opéra de Rouen Normandie with the financial support of the Flemish Government
First performance on May 10th, 2022 at Opera Ballet Vlaanderen in Antwerp, Belgium by the singers (7 soloists) Lore Binon, Vincenzo Neri, Amel Brahim-Djelloul, Françoise Atlan, Daniel Arnaldos, Luvuyo Mbundu and Guido Jentjens mixed choir, small children’s choir and orchestra of Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, city choir Madam Fortuna conductor Koen Kessels, staging and scenography Hans Op de Beeck
