前往道風山 Before Tao Fong Shan 作品展示挪威宣教士昔日不畏艱險，從歐洲遠赴重洋到香港傳教，旅途期間所遇見的種種， 包括輪船、鐵路、田野、沙田的眾山等，在此作品中均有描繪。

到道風山後 After Tao Fong Shan 作品反映道風山的建築與氛圍。當年在荒蕪的山上開山闢路，耗費多年才建成的道風山基督教叢林， 以及其中的廣彩創作瓷坊，透過作品活現眼前，而在其中的人物：宣教士及瓷繪工匠，也躍然於碟 上。

This porcelain depicts the long and tough journey of the Norwegian missionary who traveled all the way from Europe to Hong Kong. The missionary, as well as what he went through along the way, including ships, railway, fields and mountains in Shatin, are shown in the art piece.

This porcelain shows the architecture and ambiance in Tao Fong Shan. The difficult process of building the site from scratch, the porcelain workshop, the missionary as well as porcelain craftsmen are also shown.

Family Clan Crest

紋章瓷是廣彩的一個重要類型。由於廣彩很大程度上是因應西方人口味和要求，再經中國畫師製作的產品，因此作品的主題和圖樣很多都來自於西方客人提供的設計。其中紋章瓷就是把家族或所屬組織的徽章繪畫在瓷 碟上，是中西合璧的最佳例子。 Family Clan Crest is an important genre of Guangcai art. Most Guangcai art pieces are commissioned by Westerners and produced by Chinese craftsmen. As such, the ideas on themes and patterns come from the Western customers most of the time. Family Clan Crest, a popular choice of pattern, is a good example of the fusion of East and West.

粵東彩瓷所採用的色彩圖譜有大概二十種色調，主要色調是朱紅和翠 綠，母題常以黑金線勾劃點綴，帶出閃爍的效果，仿如黃金彩線編織 而成的錦緞，著名例子是「廣東玫瑰彩繪圖案」。粵東廣彩瓷繪的主 題主要是山水、花卉、雀鳥、人物、昆蟲及魚類。 「廣東玫瑰」是廣彩最具代表性的圖案，紅玫瑰花頭，畫師白手繪 畫，經「洗花撇線」，即用毛筆將花瓣顏色洗出濃淡效果，再在花瓣 上勾勒出條紋，令花頭維肖維妙，此工序又名「撻花頭」。 The palette of Yuet Tung porcelains cover around 20 colors, among which red and emerald predominate. The painted motifs are embellished with black or gilt outlines which lend a compact and glittering effect to the artistic composition, resembling brocade woven from gold and colorful thread, such as the famous “Canton Rose in Medallion design”.

Themes for Yuet Tung’s colored glazed porcelain include mainly scenery, flowers, birds, figures, insects and fish.

Canton Rose is the most iconic pattern of Guangcai art.

Porcelain artists would draw the roses from scratch. By employing a specific technique, the artists add fine lines and colour shades to create vivid images of the rose tips.

廣彩手繪白菜蝴蝶瓷碟

Guangcai porcelain plates with painted decoration of cabbages and butterflies

根據歷史文獻，廣彩白菜圖案由1870年開始在廣彩圖樣中出現。「白菜」諧音「百財」、 「發財」，加上紅線金地的「壽」字圖案，白菜蝴蝶盤有百財俱來、招財長壽的含義。

According to archive records, cabbage patterns have appeared in Guangcai porcelain art since 1870. In Chinese, the word “cabbage” (Bak Choi) sounds like “prosperity” (Fat Choi). With the red lines and golden ground, porcelain plates with painted cabbages and butterflies symbolize prosperity and longevity.

《唱哈利路亞讚美主》是道風山駐場藝術家林斷山明的 最新福音瓷作品，希望信徒在餐桌上用膳、以至日常生 活當中，都能夠常常提醒自己在基督裏滿有盼望和喜樂 的緣由，無論身處甚麼景況，仍可高唱哈利路亞歌頌上 帝：在歡樂的日子帶笑歌唱讓眾人高興，在艱苦的日子 帶淚歌唱叫邪惡的爪牙羞愧。 Sing Hallelujah to the Lord is one of the latest Christian porcelains created by Tao Fong Shan’s artist-in-residence Lam Duen Shan Ming for Tao Fong Porcelain Workshop. Wishing all believers to often remind themselves of the reasons to be hopeful and joyful in Christ in their daily life as they are given their daily bread at table; to sing Hallelujah under whatever circumstances: To sing with laughter to bring joy to our neighbors at the best of times; to sing with tears to shame the wicked at the worst of times.
