* I have opted not to specify registrations in this movement because I can conceive of many possibilities that would be effective. It may be effective to set up 8' strings, flutes, and a soft reed and follow the dynamic structure with the swell pedal. It may be equally effective to begin with 8' stops and gradually add 4' and 2' stops to increase the energy of the piece. The left hand may be played on either the swell or the positive, however, for organists with smaller hands, it may be necessary to use the swell in order to "thumb down" a few of the larger stretches.
