SOUNDS OF NOW Sounds of Now is a platform for musicians who are pioneering some of the most exciting artistic ideas today, nurturing talent, inspiring new thinking and provoking debate.

Elaine Mitchener, associate artist at Wigmore Hall, launches the series in March with a programme of music that spans the jazz of Charles Mingus to interpretations of artwork by Louise Bourgeois. An enthralling performer, she manipulates her voice to evoke an incredible range of characters and moods, from rich, bluesy jazz to raw emotion, fusing music, theatre, dance and art through her work.

In April, musicians from Psappha perform an intoxicating evening of works for eclectic instruments including tuned plant pots (!) and the hypnotic cimbalom, an instrument at the heart of Hungarian folk music.
