Their punky dub step alternative blast hits dance floors with such force that Jon Brookes of The Charlatans signed them to his One Beat Records label earlier this year. They’ve played a BBC Introducing radio session, have electro dance remixes coming and Bestival/Radio 1’s Rob da Bank calling them “incredible”. With inspirations from Talking Heads, LCD Soundsystem and Late of the Pier to The Fall The Carpels are no one trick pony. Look out for the next single, Bears, in the new year. A more than promising modern musical tale already.

All or various members of The Rifles, Marner Brown, Goldie Lookin’ Chain, Dub Pistols, Warehouse Republic, The Buzzcocks, The Tricks, Anita Maj and even Iggy Pop and Johnny Depp are among one of the happiest crowds in played, possibly too many people wanttown. The Bradford/Brockley purveyor of bluesy rock tinged power pop is on her fifth trip to America in 2 years. (Actually, as I type this she’s about to take off for New York and just bumped into David Byrne. What a way to start a music trip!).

On the strength of a strong collection of hooky anthems, hard work and belief, she has graced legendary venues/major events like The Whiskey, Viper Rooms, House Of Blues, CMJ and SXSW. Early talent spotters and supporters like Philly F/M Festival and Red Gorilla are in the know.

Additionally, radio play from Gene Pembleton’s British Breakfast Show in Virginia and VIC Radio

in New York are part of the story. Anita finds herself being added to both student and radio playlists alike while YouTube views for her debut single, Out Of Control just keeps growing as people check her out.

Anita’s song ‘ will appear on computer game, Rockband in October when she also plays a BBC Introducing Session in Yorkshire. Real Rock STARS are … here right In the April 2009 issue of Monthly Planet with Jean Genie on the cover, MP predicted a nd described as . It may have seemed like a premature overstatement but Rocklands were lucky enough to have them play amazing shows for us at New Cross Inn & The Good Ship in 2008 and are still smitten. Any acquaintances (that will listen!) have heard of this real deal fronted by the soul diva voShe was born to do this. cals of Britain has a great tradition of vintage rock n roll stars, and they are still coming through. Reading Festival 2010 honored its jazz/blues rock roots (visually) above one bar, I was a tad disappointed that none of my fave authentic new rock was playing (ie and more but I got a lotta love for the broadsheet music journalist, who allowed me to enthuse on about these bands, plus for a whole pint!

Go music! Like dancing, rocking is the perfect antidote soundtrack for a recession. Monthly Planet flies in the face of national media bleating “rock is dead” baaaaa baaaa just cos it aint included on the Simon Cowell Haribo crappy dabby snow patrol of music playlists on mainstream radio and TV. Keep the faith and thank fug for the net.

Anyway, no worries. A couple of months after Reading Festival, and played Toejam hard rockin’ events in New Cross, then bluesy young newcomers, packed out the 100 Club despite being unknown..

These were all shows that would have set a fantasy festival bill alight, rounded off by hot swiss outfit, , supporting in November. That was a brilliant night with the headliners playing a raw set that belonged on a stage ten times bigger than the intimate setting of The Bull & Gate.

Awesome doesn’t come close, the hard work that Saint Jude put into honing their song writing, powerful stage craft felt genuinely big time..They LIVE Maximum rock n roll!

Raised on classics like Aretha, Led Zep and Joplin, Lynne Jackaman has paid her dues in the working men’s clubs and jazz scene becoming fully formed by 2005 when Saint Jude were born.

Since then The Waterboys and Pete Doherty are among those personally inviting them to be special guests at their shows.

Saint Jude have been compared to

by Rolling Stones producer Chris Kimsey who produced their stunning debut album .. Saint Jude can also count Ronnie Wood (also a fan of Marner Brown) and Jimmy Page among their legion of truly dedicated fans.

Like many of the artists in Monthly Planet. Its word of mouth and reputation, not major PR hype machine, that increase their following to the point of public attention. 2011 has seen their profile rise. Festival tours at home and abroad, 100 Club residencies and the support of Classic Rock (who also picked up on Warehouse Republic early).

The magazine reviewed the album with high praise and Saint Jude graced High Voltage Festival main stage in fine style.

I don’t regret attending the launch of ‘Save The 100 Club’ last year, the venue lives! I do regret that last beer though, because I would caught seen more of their set at Panda~Power!

This band were immediately noticeable. I’d already dug their mighty darkness on line. Isolated Atoms sound like Lord Voldemort’s disco.

From the mid naughties days of seminal My Passion and Corporation:Blend I’ve loved Depeche-Mode-on-fire energy of such sonic electronic.

Isolated Atoms have a Hadron Collider’s worth of potential.

This Midlands outfit are also another of the UK underground star turns appreciated in America and have already graced the cover of LA magazine, All Access, who have picked up on the New British Invasion and the Named after the Joy Division album track, ‘ definition of Atoms (“reactionary energy” sums up their live set perfectly), the first single (Feb 2009) was recorded at the famous Parr Street Studios in Liverpool. Its a straight to business debut that wouldn’t have been out of place at The Hacienda in glory days. 80s legends get them as much as near future fans in waiting. Peter Hook (Joy Division/New Order) was heavily involved in the recording/production of their .with its lyrics about anguish and sadistic second single role play. At a performance in St Paul's Gallery in Birmingham they were joined by Derek Forbes of Simple Minds.

Although obvious comparisons are the above mentioned bands, The Cult, and more than a smattering of The Doors, there’s still a giant slice of 21st Century Newer Wave Rock shining through that makes this group stand out in an age of vintage revivals.

Tai Chi Swayze are pretty newibut have got a single out and managed to nab a nifty video directed by the Harry Potter special FX guys. “Along the way to the finals we've all found that despite having been around for a year or so we're still very much finding our feet as far as sound and live show.

It's all coming together though and we're having a great time sorting things out. There seem to be more and more people at the shows too.

For the future... we've been writing and recording new songs as well as creating more videos. It's all about content and tunes!

We've also recently met with a very talented and esteemed producer who we're looking to start rolling with.

We'll also be playing more out of town dates as well as hitting mainland Europe, Mexico and Australia for gigs. There is even talk of playing Iraq! (Seriously). First things first though, we wanna own Proud Galleries on Octobert 5th. Get on down!.

Starting with local South London gigs like The Hob in Forest Hill then progressing to gigs at Debut nightclub in London Bridge, Southwark Playhouse, a triumphant set at Lewisham People's Day and

now a bi monthly residency at Islington music bar The Arc. They've also recorded some of their songs and made a great video for one of their leading tracks, 'Don't Mess Up My Song'. Matt Mure It’s been an eventful year for this London based musician .

He started 2011 ranking the highest scoring solo act in The Music League’s countrywide contest to play some of the summer’s biggest festivals. In between a busy gigging schedule and regular recordings for the forthcoming EP, Matt landed an opening support for Carl Barat and slots at some of London’s most sought gigs.

From angst filled songs journeying through personal stories of young heartache, to anthemic chants of social antipathy, the energetic singer songwriter looks towards becoming even busier with his first release.
