For Rebecca Romanucci, when attempting to age gracefully, the conservative approach to skin rejuvenation is best. Rebecca started RSR Medical Skin Rejuvenation, LLC, seven years ago with the belief that the key to healthy skin is to not only protect it from the day you are born, but also to adapt your skin care regimen to meet the needs as we age. She believes that a conservative approach to skin care rejuvenation not only is the safest way to treat people, but also what people want. When asked why RSR Medical continues to win Best of Denton County honors, Rebecca responded, “We believe in aging.......gracefully; slowing down the negative effects of the aging process. I believe the reason we continue to receive such high praise is because we are conservative, and at RSR Medical, we are all medically trained. “Not all ‘medi-spas’ have registered nurses or a physician who are actually assessing and treating the patient. Consultations are complementary and we thoroughly assess each patient as we carefully listen to each of their concerns. It is not a one-size-fits-all mentality. Our clients trust us, and as a result, our business continues to grow.”
Now a three-time Best of Denton County winner, RSR Medical specializes in advanced techniques and procedures of medical aesthetics, including Botox/Dysport, dermal fillers like Juvederm, Voluma, Restylane, the SkinPen (medical-grade micro-needling), IPL/laser and Obagi Prescriptive Skin Care. Rebecca admits that RSR isn’t for everyone. “We focus on enhancing, and not altering, a person into someone they never were created to be,” she said. “When someone brings in a photo of a movie star or model and asks for lips or cheeks like them, we remind them that they are beautiful – as God created. If you weren’t born with voluminous lips, or well-defined cheek bones, you may want to ask yourself what the outcome would be if you added too much volume, more than they were designed to hold.” Rebecca is OK with missing out on potential business if it means she is protecting someone from making a potentially life-altering mistake. It is important to Romanucci that her staff focus only on the things that enhance the areas that concern the client the most.
“Replacing the volume that they have lost over time, or slowing down the movement of the muscles which cause scowl or frown lines, rather than altering their appearance,” she said, is their goal. “We have all seen the results of those who have gone to places who WILL over-inject their lips (duck lips), or cheeks, resulting in a distorted appearance, or who have been treated with Botox/Dysport to ‘freeze’ their face, resulting in the inability to make any expressions. At RSR, we feel that weakening specific facial muscles, and avoiding others, provides both a reduction of unwanted lines and wrinkles, as well as the ability to continue to make beautiful expressions, resulting in a much more natural look.” Who is injecting you? Advanced Trained Registered Nurses: Key Difference to Consider Perhaps the most important consideration for any aesthetic injectable treatment is the expertise of the person doing the injection. All procedures and services at RSR are performed by registered nurses licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing. They all have completed advanced training and certifications under the supervision and guidance of their medical director, a surgeon who is actively practicing and certified by the American Board of Surgery. From a safety perspective, this adds so much to what Romanucci and her staff are able to offer.
