In March, CISD Police Chief Billy Taylor welcomed three new schoolbased law enforcement officers—continuing the district’s commitment to safety.

“Having the district’s own school-based law enforcement not only helps make schools safer, but it also provides positive interactions and connections with students and law enforcement,” said Dr. Wendy Eldredge, Crandall ISD superintendent. “As we grow, we will keep safety a top priority.”

When CISD established its police department in July 2019, the department had four officers.

These three newest hires will allow CISD to continue engaging its officers with students in ways beyond just law enforcement.

“Being with kids every day allows our officers to create a solid foundation of trust that will hopefully pave the way for a positive experience with all law enforcement,” Taylor said. “We are here to keep students and staff safe and we are just as committed to building relationships.”

Help us create Portrait of a Graduate

Crandall ISD is proud to celebrate over 100 years of excellence and wants your help preparing future graduates for the next century of success. During the next few months, CISD will bring together students, parents, educators, business representatives, and community members to discuss the focus of our schools—above and beyond basic academic expectations.

With your input, the team will recommend real-world competencies that will comprise a CISD’s Portrait of a Graduate beyond just a standard academic design. Your feedback will provide valuable information and reveal the areas of focus needed for student growth. Please take a moment to fill out the survey—this will only take a few minutes of your time and closes Friday, April 29.
