A Message from the Superintendent
A Message from the Superintendent Dr. Wendy Eldredge
It has been said that good relationships begin with good communication. This year in Crandall ISD we have talked, texted, telephoned and typed information to stakeholders in more ways than ever before. We did a lot of listening throughout the process as well, which is why I am thrilled to introduce you to our latest communication channel with this new magazine, Crusader.

With countless digital communication options available through a swipe or click, you may be asking, “Why print?” Well, that’s a good question. Even though many of us spend so much time in front of an electronic device, skipping through online platforms and onscreen apps, many of us still want and appreciate the permanence of print publications. And while Crusader is something that lives beyond the cache clear on a phone, its design still projects a sleek look of forward thinking.
Crusader, in many ways, came to life during our increased communication outreach of the past year. Throughout the talking, texting, telephoning and typing I mentioned above, a question arose—how can we ensure that everyone linked to CISD is engaged at some level in the district’s mission. A grassroots effort became the focus and one result is this informative and beautiful magazine. Even its name holds significance with a Crusader being one who makes an impassioned effort to bring about change. Does anything blend better with our district’s longstanding mission of, “Empowering every student to positively impact the world?”
So, with this first edition of Crusader, we have delivered an engagement opportunity for many more in CISD. Business owners and residents alike can now read the stories that unfold among almost 5,700 students and 700 employees. Our digital presence will continue delivering CISD success stories through electronic platforms, but Crusader will offer a hands-on approach for those who already live here—and an instant connection for the new families we welcome every month.
