About our Students The University of Georgia’s Master of Urban Planning and Design (MUPD) is a two-year program with the purpose of preparing students to help positively shape communities. While the program specializes in urban design, our students graduate with an education in transportation, natural systems, GIS, and policy.

We assure you that you will find an excellent candidate for your position in this book. Our students’ backgrounds vary from policy and the sciences to design and architecture. The MUPD program offers a rigorous curriculum that exposes them to a rich background in history, law, and community engagement. They put this knowledge to the test and are given real-world experience through three separate design studios and a thesis or applied practicum project at the end of their degree.

We are confident that our students graduate ready to make a positive impact on communities and are prepared to work in private, public, or non-profit organizations.
