Cork Harlequins 12th & 13th May 2018
It is my pleasure to welcome you all to the Women’s and Men’s Junior Interprovincials in Cork. These tournaments are always very exciting and sociable with players young and not so young enjoying representing their Province. Thank you to the Muster Branch, President Finbarr Kelleher and the organising committee for hosting this tournament. It is nice to be in Cork Harlequins we are enjoying the excellent facilities provided by the Club here in ‘Quins. Also, a big thank you to all who have volunteered their time and talents for the weekend, the Tournament Director and the technical assistants, the Umpires Managers and the dedicated group of Umpires. It is fitting that my final Tournament is here in Munster and that the players present this weekend represent the vast majority of players who make up the core of most Clubs in the country. A very warm welcome to everyone & I hope that you have an enjoyable weekend at the Junior Interprovincials. It is a great accolade to represent one’s province and I would like to take this opportunity to wish the players & their management teams the very best for the tournament. I would like to thank Sharon Hutchinson and all in Cork Harlequins for the use of their excellent facilities as they welcome us to their grounds and clubhouse. Colette Coomey as tournament organiser has done an excellent job; also can I thank all those volunteers who give their time and expertise to ensure the smooth running of the Tournament. I also acknowledge all officials involved in the preparation and running of the tournament: T.D. John Dennis and his judges, Umpires managers, Gail Taylor and Peter Murphy along with their teams of umpires. Having an online tournament programme is a novel idea and is another indication of our changing times, thank you to Graham Catchpole, Munster PRO for it compilation.
