The New Meaford Public Library Fundraising Campaign

The Municipality of Meaford and the Meaford Public Library have decided to create a larger, accessible and modern new library in the former Foodland building at 11 Sykes Street North. Over the past fifty years in its current location in the former Federal Post Office and Customs House on Trowbridge Street, the Meaford Public Library has experienced continuous growth. Books, magazines, DVDs, large print titles, audiobooks and more demand increased space; and visits to the library have increased steadily. Technology has also expanded with the library use of computers and Wi-Fi skyrocketing over the past decade. Attendance at adult and children’s programming has increased demand dramatically on the library system. In 2018, plans for the new Library began. The Meaford Public Library Fundraising Committee is coordinating the fundraising campaign. You can also donate in honour of someone else.

TRANSPORTATION SERVICES Municipal Winter Control Services… What You Can Do To Help Us! During heavy snowfalls, residents are encouraged to assist the Municipal snow removal crews by:  Removing vehicles from the street and parking in your driveway;  Keep catch basins, culverts and ditches clear of snow and ice for proper drainage during a thaw;  Always keep fire hydrants clear and visible in case of an emergency; and  Never deposit snow onto roadways or sidewalks. This can interfere with traffic. The Municipality reminds property owners that they are responsible for the removal of snow from their driveways after municipal snow removal equipment has removed snow from the roadway. Property owners are also encouraged not to pile too much snow at the end of their driveway, in an effort to maintain visibility, and to reduce the likelihood that municipal snow removal equipment will push the snow back into the driveway while plowing.
