DearGraduateProgramDirectors,
Iamwritingtoexpressmyinterestinmytopthreechoicesforgraduateprograms.My firstoption,theGensler/GastingerWalker&/InvisionCo-opInternship,excitesmebecauseit offersauniqueopportunitytodothesis-typeresearchoverurbandesign.Thiswouldallowmeto exploremyacademicinterestsinaprofessionalsetting.Iamparticularlydrawntothe opportunitytoworkonavarietyofprojectsandengageinresearchwithallthreefirms.Gensler wouldbemyfirstchoicebecauseoftheirglobalimpactonarchitectureandurbandesign.My secondchoicewouldbeGastingerWalker&becauseoftheirstrongclientcenteredapproachto design.MyfinalchoicewouldbeInvision.Thecombinationofexperiencesandexpertise betweenthethreefirmswouldprovidemewithastrongunderstandingofurbandesign,which wouldallowmetogrowbothacademicallyandprofessionallywhilecontributingtomeaningful projects.
MysecondoptionistheHealthandWellnessProgram.Theprograminterestsmebecause itofferstheopportunitytolearnmoreabouthowthebuiltenvironmentcanaffectaperson's healthandwellbeing,promotinghealthierlifestylesthroughthoughtful,user-centereddesign. Thisprogramalignswellwithmyinterestindesigningspacesthatarenotonlyfunctionalbut helptoimproveusers'qualityoflife.Iamexcitedaboutthechancetoworkwiththeaffiliate firmsparticipatinginthisprogram,becauseoftheirexpertiseinhealthfocuseddesign.
MythirdoptionforthegraduateprogramistheStudio804design-build.Thisprogram interestsmebecauseofitsuniquenesscomparedtotheotherprograms.Theopportunitytowork hands-ondesigningaLEEDcertifiedbuildingwouldequipmewithknowledgeoverallthe phasesofdesign.Theprogram’sstrongreputationacrossthecountryexcitesme.Theprogram's strongreputationacrossthecountryexcitesmeaboutthechancetobeapartofit.Iameagerto learnaboutthebuiltenvironmentfirsthand,gainingknowledgenotonlyinarchitecturaldesign, butalsoinconstructionandclient-basedaspectsofthefield.
