CHAPTER from the editor’s NAME desk Welcome! Valentine’s Day. What does it really mean for you? Nothing? Hoping it’s something? Definitely something? Not sure? Well we say, just go for it! Do something just a little bit nice for someone you like this year! Why not send out a sentiment to that one you love (or perhaps you can’t decide and there is more than one?). Chocolates, flowers, something a little bit heartshaped, jewellery? Chocolates or flowers are normally safe, but beware! A colleague recently told me about the year he got his wife chocolates she yelled at him and said she was trying to lose weight - he sticks with short weekends away now! Another partner complained about having to fill up the vase with water every few days upon receiving a rather generous bunch of flowers! But please, don’t let that put you off guys! Get your skates on and pick up a card soaked in soppy messages of sweet nothings! No time to dash on down to the shops to grab one? Then show your ‘techy’ side and send them a personalised e-card (a bit

like the one we posted up on our Facebook page from Dreamstime. It’s been long said that having romance in ones life keeps us healthy, positive and gives us a sense of purpose. But fret not for those on the single side of the fence. No Valentine, yet still grateful and lucky to have special ones in your life? These gems might be family, friends, neighbours or work colleagues (don’t break the HR rule though!). We say, go on, go and indulge, share some of the love this Valentine’s Day – cupcakes, humorous cards, beauty vouchers - something small – even a light Happy Valentine’s Day text - just to say thanks! If you’re not really into it and you find yourself in the staff room, lamenting (as you do annually) about how Valentine’s Day is so ‘commercial’, ‘materialistic’, and unfair on those deep in the throes of singledom – can I make a polite request – keep it to yourself – live and let live - after all – for those who are excited about it – it’s a lighthearted fun day– littered with the fun-filled emotions of laughter, encapsulating

happiness and romance – isn’t having a great, positive day so much more fun than the opposite? So please, let it go! We hope you enjoy our Valentine’s Day Special Feature maglet - (not quite the full magazine, bit bigger than the booklet) - our small gift for you this Valentine’s Day! Don’t forget to watch out for a huge, bumper Easter issue featuring lots of sweet Easter treats and our Princess Party special where we visit the Sugar Plum Fairy Princess!

Much love Happy Valentine’s Day!

Love always, Lady K

What is Partycrashers about?

P

artycrashers is a marketplace where anyone can come to buy, sell or hire their leftover party supplies, decorations, event leftovers or any party-related products - both new and used. It is for individuals and those businesses in the party industry (photographers, cupcake shops, bakeries, event planners, wedding planners, party supplies and party decoration specialists. SIMPLE. BUY. SELL. HIRE. YOUR PARTY SUPPLIES AND SERVICES. THINK OF IT AS A CLASSIFIED SITE FOR ALL THINGS PARTY!

How much does it cost to sell something on the website? For private individuals it is free. Businesses are also free until February 2013.

er to find what you’re after, with easy to understand categories and fast search! Do Partycrashers sell products and services as well? Occasionally if our staff have any products they wish to sell, they are more than welcome to. But generally Partycrashers are not in the business of buying and selling products or services. However, we like to think of ourselves as helping others sell their stuff!! Rather, it is a thirdparty provider where people and businesses can meet to promote their brand, buy, sell and rent party supplies and services. So, it seems kind of weird to create a place to sell leftover party stuff? Our idea was conceived from a group of us with experience in the party-planning and eventsrelated industry. During our involvement with the many parties, events, festivals, weddings celebrations, corporate functions, we saw so much WASTE. We like to think of ourselves at as a little bit green and we care for the environment! It’s not such an unusual concept and has proven quite popular overseas with websites such as mypartyisover.com and eventleftovers.com. Where can I get more information?
