Welcome

FAITH • SCHOLARSHIP • COMMUNITY

Each year, MUHS graduates return to campus for a young alumni college fair, where they provide insights, advice, and experiences with our juniors and seniors as they prepare for their future.

They reminisce about their high school classes, retreats, service projects, and co-curricular activities. They share good memories of high school and describe how well-prepared they felt for the demands of college, often stating they felt much more prepared than their peers from other high schools.

This was affirmed in a survey, where 93% of our graduates reported feeling significantly more prepared for the challenges of college coursework than their college classmates.

We often mention the return on investment of a Catholic, Jesuit education. At MUHS, the return is evident in many ways, including students’ academic growth, sense of brotherhood, and practice of faith during their four years here. It is also reflected in the college acceptances and merit-based scholarships earned by our graduates, as well as the college credits they earn through dual-credit and AP classes.

The ROI is seen in our alumni’s success in college, the positive impact they make in the world through their chosen professions, their leadership in communities and parishes, and their roles as loving fathers and husbands.

Admittedly, we are not unbiased about the value of an MUHS education. We are energized by the possibilities that lie ahead for incoming classes and the tremendous impact that their Catholic, Jesuit education will have in their lives. Today, we invite you to learn more about this journey.

God’s blessings,

Rev. Michael J. Marco, S.J., President Jeff Monday, Principal

Our 5 Jazz Labs invite musicians of all levels to deepen their understanding of improvisation, chord study, music reading and the rich history of America’s art form. Students collaborate and perform while enjoying memorable field trips, most recently to New York City’s legendary jazz scene.

Key Club focuses on fostering service with events such as their holiday toy drive and blood drive, demonstrating the giving spirit that defines our school community. Last year, over 118 units of blood were donated through Key Club efforts, and 77 students gave blood for the first time.

The Hilltopper Media Collective at Marquette High offers students hands-on experience in sports broadcasting, production and media management. Participants livestream games and produce recaps for the school’s YouTube channel, gaining hands-on insights into sports media.

The esports homeroom provides a space for students to share their passion for playing video games. Students have the option to sign up to play in a competitive league throughout the semester. The homeroom also hosts periodic game nights that are open to the entire school.

Connected By

I was most pleased by Marquette High’s community and the immense amount of opportunities they offered students to get involved, make friends, and explore their interests.

– Jude Ballinger ’25

The Marquette High community sets it apart. Teachers and coaches are willing to interact with students beyond just the classroom. The idea of brotherhood fostered by retreat programs is special. Sports are competitive, successful, and fun to play with friends. Alumni are incredibly supportive of the school. All these things create an incredible community environment.

-Luke Josetti ’25

There is a place for everyone at Marquette. There is a club, team or organization for anyone to fit into, which made it easy for me to find community in school.

– Drew Bergan ’25

It’s a place I can call home.

– Giovanni Avila-Gutierrez ’25

The absolute best things I participated in at Marquette High were the school trips, including the Rosebud Reservation service trip, Spain Pilgrimage, and summer Civil War Adventure. Also, leading a Kairos retreat during senior year was a definite highlight.

– Edward Mooney ’25

I was very pleased with the rigor of academics and preparation for college and beyond.

– Nick Pienkos ’25

Everyone cares about the students and wants to see them succeed in the classroom and life in general.

– Jack Kwiatt ’25

At least one non-cut sport is offered in each sport season and two freshman teams are fielded in multiple sports.

Whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just starting out, you’ll find a supportive and competitive environment at Marquette University High School. Our programs foster a culture of leadership, sportsmanship, and school spirit, helping our students develop valuable skills that extend far beyond their playing days. Roll Top!

Faith: The Foundation For Growth

Faith is more than theology classes – it’s the foundation for our entire community. We believe a strong compass is essential for shaping young men into well-rounded leaders.

Each day starts with student-led prayer, fostering a sense of brotherhood and shared purpose. The afternoon Ignatian Examen, a reflective prayer encouraged by our Jesuit founders, becomes a daily habit, guiding students toward self-awareness and growth.

Regular Liturgies and service opportunities solidify the connection between faith and action.

Marquette High’s Campus Ministry offers a wealth of programs to nurture each young man’s faith journey, from all faith backgrounds:

• Retreats that provide opportunities for reflection and connection

• Immersion trips that put faith into action from Milwaukee to the Dominican Republic

• 130 service hours completed by each student over four years

• 75% of the student body is Catholic, and all students are able to grow in their faith through four years of Theology classes

Marquette University High School isn’t just about preparing students for college; it’s about preparing them for life. Young men discover their strengths, explore their values, and graduate with a foundation that will guide them long after they leave our halls.

Theology teacher and department chair Tom Jackson was named a 2025 Catholic Herald Teacher of the Year. This prestigious honor recognizes Mr. Jackson’s exceptional dedication to Catholic education, his unwavering commitment to students, and his leadership in fostering faith-filled learning.

Mr. Jackson’s impact extends far beyond the classroom. His calm demeanor, genuine compassion, and deep faith make him a trusted mentor and role model for students.

Parent Testimonials

My son has grown into a very thoughtful young man that looks outward often and understands the importance of doing service. He feels like he couldn’t have gotten a better education anywhere in the state.

The focus on each boy and what they needed individually to succeed during their 4 years. The educational system is not a one size fits all approach.

“Cura Personalis” is demonstrated every day on campus.

The faculty and staff all love their jobs and deeply care about their students as learners and young people. The fantastic dedication and organizational culture is like nothing I have ever witnessed.

MUHS has exceeded our expectations. The robust curriculum is what drew us to the school and having the Jesuit foundation really encouraged our son to be a wellrounded individual at graduation.

The brotherhood. Dedicated faculty. Sense of community. And the families we’ve met are great people. It’s all class all the time.

Teachers are dedicated to each student. It is clear they love what they do and want every student to succeed. So many ways for the boys to spend time together from retreats to Turkey Bowl.
