Reflecting on the MU20 Opportunity Summit 2024, held at The Emerald Heights International School and NMIMS Indore, fills me with immense pride and gratitude. This year, we reimagined the summit as Asia’s Biggest High School Career Conference, a platform designed to equip young minds with the skills, knowledge, and opportunities they need to build their futures. From the outset, MU20 Opportunity Summit has aimed to be more than a conference is a transformative experience where students unlock their potential and chart their paths toward meaningful careers.
The participation of nearly 3,000 students this year highlighted the diversity of dreams, aspirations, and talents present in this generation. Whether through rigorous debates, innovative business pitches, impactful policy discussions, theatrical performances, or creative problem-solving, every student had the chance to explore their abilities and learn in ways that traditional classrooms often cannot provide.
This summit was not only a celebration of talent but also a celebration of possibilities. The opportunities we created this year be it through mentorship, workshops, or competitions reflected our commitment to helping students discover and define their career paths. Watching them embrace these challenges with enthusiasm reaffirmed my belief in their potential to make an impact on the world.

The MU20 Opportunity Summit 2024 commenced with a grand Opening Ceremony at Emerald Heights International School and NMIMS Indore, bringing together over 3,000 students, 120+ schools, and 150+ principals and educators.
The evening was marked by the vibrant Cultural Walk, a dazzling display of India's rich heritage, and the launch of Dr. Sumer Singh’s autobiography, celebrating his remarkable contributions to education. A keynote address by Dr. Himanshu Rai, Director of IIM Indore, inspired the audience with insights on leadership and innovation. The Oath-Taking Ceremony united participants in their commitment to leadership and global citizenship. The Impact Challenge was an immersive two-day challenge designed to empower young minds to address pressing global issues through innovative problem-solving. Participants collaborate in diverse teams to analyze selected Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), propose creative solutions, and develop actionable policies. Through expert talks, creative rounds, and open discussions, the challenge fosters critical thinking, teamwork, and leadership. Guided by mentors, participants present policy briefs evaluated on feasibility, creativity, and impact. The experience culminates in transformative ideas aimed at driving real-world change, making the Impact Challenge a unique platform for fostering sustainable innovation and inspiring future changemakers.

Guided by Anupam Kher’s Actor Prepares, the MU20 Theatrics Challenge offered an unparalleled platform for students to explore their creative potential in acting, directing, and stagecraft. Participants engaged in workshops led by seasoned professionals, followed by mini challenges that tested their adaptability. This year, teams of five prepared and presented theatrical skits that combined storytelling, creative expressions, and learned techniques. With awards for the Best Theatrical Performance and Individual Excellence, the challenge was a blend of learning and showcasing artistic talent, leaving participants enriched with confidence and creative inspiration.

Entrepreneurship challenge
This year’s Entrepreneurship Challenge, powered by TiE Global, offered a hands-on experience for aspiring entrepreneurs. Participants attended morning seminars led by real-life entrepreneurs, gaining insights into Product Development, Marketing, and Financial Strategy. Workshops and mini challenges prepared teams for the climactic Elevator Pitch Contest, where they presented innovative business ideas to a panel of judges. Evaluation emphasized clarity, creativity, and feasibility. Awards were presented for the Best Team and Best Elevator Pitch, making this challenge a unique platform to nurture entrepreneurial thinking and innovation among high school students.

The MU20 Fashion Challenge, in partnership with NIF Global, was a vibrant showcase of India’s rich cultural diversity. Students from different schools took to the grand stage, presenting traditional crafts and attire that celebrated the essence of their assigned themes. The challenge began with New Digamber Public School portraying MP Tribal Gond Art, followed by Mount Index International School's depiction of Pattachitra of Odisha. Choithram North Campus brought to life the elegance of Rajasthani Royals and Tribals, while Yadavindra Public School celebrated Punjabi Virsa and Rockwoods High School highlighted the essence of Gavari.
The second round continued the cultural journey, with Chintels School illustrating Uttar Pradesh: A Tapestry of Traditions, Vantage Hall Girls’ School showcasing Haryana: A Tapestry of Vibrant Culture, and Sri Satya Sai Vidhya VIhar closing the evening with Vrindavan: The Name of Love. Each team was evaluated on their creativity, cultural representation, and the depth of their research, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of their efforts.
This challenge provided participants with an immersive experience, encouraging them to delve into India's cultural heritage while fostering teamwork and creativity. The Fashion Challenge was judged by renowned Fashion Designer Mr. Asif Shah. A standout challenge of the summit, the Fashion Challenge perfectly embodied MU20's theme of promoting unity in diversity, leaving the audience inspired and captivated.

The MU20 Debating Challenge, in collaboration with The Hindu College Debating Society, was an intellectual platform for sharpening analytical and public speaking skills. Teams competed across six formats, including Policy Debates, Moot Court, and British Parliamentary, tackling complex issues with structured arguments. Individual marking ensured fair assessment, while team scores promoted collaboration. This year’s Grand Finale showcased the top debaters in a thought- provoking exchange of ideas. The Debating Challenge not only honed participants' critical thinking but also equipped them with skills essential for leadership and diplomacy.

MODEL UNITED NATIONS
The MU20 Model United Nations simulated real UN proceedings, allowing participants to step into the roles of diplomats and policymakers. Students debated pressing global issues, from climate change to international security, in diverse committees like UNSC and WHO. This year’s new Live Crisis Committees challenged participants to develop quick resolutions to dynamic global scenarios. Evaluation criteria focused on research, debate, and collaborative resolution drafting. The MUN provided an unparalleled opportunity for students to develop diplomatic, analytical, and leadership skills while fostering a deeper understanding of global affairs

The Hackathon Challenge, powered by InfoBeans, was a dynamic challenge where participants addressed real-world problems using technology. Students collaborated in teams to develop solutions aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Morning sessions provided technical guidance, and the final presentations highlighted creative and practical solutions. This year, themes like AI for Social Good and Sustainable Technology inspired innovative ideas. Evaluation focused on creativity, feasibility, and technical execution, with awards recognizing the Best Team and Best Prototype. The Hackathon Challenge was a platform for budding technologists to showcase their ingenuity and problem- solving abilities.

This year’s MU20x Talks, in partnership with Josh Talks, showcased eight young visionaries who captivated audiences with their thought-provoking ideas and fresh perspectives. Carefully selected through a rigorous process, these speakers took the stage to deliver impactful 10-minute talks, each offering unique insights into the challenges and opportunities of our modern world. From questioning societal norms to reimagining education and exploring self-perception, their narratives sparked meaningful conversations and resonated deeply with everyone present.
The speakers tackled a diverse range of topics. Puranjay Raj Singh Shekhawat inspired “Breaking the Code,” urging individuals to debug their lives for clarity and growth. Avni Tyagi highlighted the transformative power of perspective in “It’s All in How You See It.” Parth Sharma dissected modernday narcissism, while Azah Imran Kokiloo explored morality’s nuanced contours in “The Thin Red Line.” From Chaitanya Rohra addressing multi- passionate struggles to Shubhi Vaya critiquing coaching systems, each talk blended personal insights with broader societal relevance. Shreshtha Sharma connected ancient science to today’s challenges, and Vidhi Rahul Jain delved into the complexities of self-identity in “The Mirror’s Mirage.”
With the support of Josh Talks, MU20x talks 2024 stood as a testament to the transformative power of youth-driven narratives. These speakers did not just inspire, they challenged perceptions, fostered innovation, and left the audience with a renewed sense of purpose. Their ideas exemplified the spirit of the MU20 Opportunity Summit empowering young leaders to shape a brighter tomorrow through bold thinking and impactful action.

The grandeur of the MU20 Opportunity Summit opened its doors in the prestigious auditorium of Emerald Heights International School, a beacon of education and culture. The captivating auditorium was the perfect setting for this year's grand inauguration, further enhanced by the Cultural Walk Challenge.
MU20 Concert
The Concert, held on the evening of the first day of the summit at Emerald Heights International School, was a grand spectacle that brought students together in an unforgettable celebration of music and camaraderie. The school’s expansive open-air stage was illuminated with dazzling lights, creating an electric atmosphere that set the tone for the evening. A lineup of talented performers and a live band captivated the audience with an eclectic mix of genres, blending global and local influences into an extraordinary musical journey.
The concert wasn’t just about the music—it was an immersive experience. Food stalls offered an array of delectable cuisines, while interactive zones allowed students to bond and create lasting memories. As the night deepened, the crowd came alive, singing and dancing under the starlit sky, united by the infectious rhythm of the music. This concert wasn’t merely entertainment, it was a vibrant celebration of youthful energy and the spirit of community, marking a spectacular start to the summit.
MU20 CARNIVAL
The Carnival, held on the second day of the summit, was a vibrant respite from the intense challenge sessions. It provided a perfect setting for students to unwind and connect in a more informal and lively atmosphere. The air was filled with the energy of music and dance, with a DJ setting the mood for an evening of relaxation and fun. Students indulged in an array of global and local cuisines, adding a flavourful dimension to their experience.
The vibrant marketplace offered a unique exploration opportunity, and as the night progressed, the dance floor under the stars became a space of jubilation and unity. This carnival was more than just a break from the academic rigor, it was a celebration of youthful spirit and a testament to the joy of coming together as a community.
Closing ceremony
The MU20 Opportunity Summit’s Closing Ceremony was a grand culmination, encapsulating the achievements and spirit of the entire confernece. Mr. Jay Jain, President of TiE MP, and Dr. Anshuman Jaswal, Director of NMIMS Indore, graced the occasion, addressing the audience with insightful messages that emphasized the importance of innovation, leadership, and continuous growth.
The ceremony celebrated outstanding accomplishments, with Shishukunj International School earning the title of Best Delegation, Inventure Academy recognized as the Outstanding Delegation, and Rockwoods International School crowned as the Strongest Delegation. Other accolades included Emerald Heights International School as the Most Impactful Delegation, Indus International School as the Remarkable Delegation, and Sathya Sai School as the Most Powerful Delegation, honoring their exceptional efforts and contributions throughout the summit.
