5 AGENDA AT-A-GLANCE

GREETINGS FROM THE STATE DIRECTOR

Welcome to the 2023 State Career Development Conference, and Fairmont Hot Springs Resort. Over 1200 DECA members, advisors and corporate partners have gathered at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort for the pinnacle event of the DECA year, and we could not be more excited to spend the next three days creating new connections, engaging in challenging new adventures, and celebrating incredible achievements with each of you.

DECA is an integral component of classroom instruction that helps members apply their learning and connect to business. This year, DECA encouraged you to examine your journey, and to take advantage of the limitless opportunities available to you through this organization - and you did just that! You participated in DECA’s Chapter Campaigns, created innovative new products in the DECA Idea Challenge, attended Career Pathway Conferences, earned Gold-Level Certification for your School-Based Enterprises, and conquered the competition to make it all the way to the stage at the State Career Development Conference.

While the State Career Development Conference is the most anticipated event of the year, the next three days you’ll spend at Fairmont will certainly go by faster than you ever expected. Be sure to take advantage of every opportunity DECA offers you this week, such as meeting incredible corporate partners, colleges and universities, and sharing your experiences on social media using #MTDECA. Also, don’t forget to experience all of the new activities and events this year. From the Game of Life to engaging workshops, make sure to take in all that this conference has to offer.

Remember, just because you’ve made it to #MTSCDC, doesn’t mean you’ve reached the end of your journey. Every new connection you make and challenge you conquer here at Fairmont will bring you one step closer to achieving your dreams.

Congratulations on making it to the State Career Development Conference and get ready for an amazing experience.

GREETINGS FROM YOUR STATE OFFICERS

Team 73 is excited to welcome you to the Montana State Career Development Conference!

Being here and actively engaging yourself will allow you to Maximize Your Opportunities. That may sound cliche, but it will be what you make of it. Make a decision for you and your chapter that this conference will be the best yet.

Your active participation plays a vital role in making this conference a success. Our goal is to send the most elite competitors and leadership members to the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, Florida this April.

We are excited to make lasting, positive, in-person memories with you. This conference is going to be a lot of fun and we are grateful to have you as a member of our Montana DECA family.

Many new elements have been added to the conference this year with the hopes of enhancing your experience. We wish you a successful conference and ask that you participate in the diverse range of activities to make the most of the 73rd annual State Career Development Conference. Don’t hesitate to stop and chat with us, take a selfie and of course, let us know how we can help maximize your stay at Fairmont Hot Springs Resort!

Welcome to Firehouse!

Proudly Supporting Montana’s Future Leaders and Entrepreneurs

Growing up in a family that is both entrepreneurial and built on decades of fire and police service, it seems Chris Sorensen and Robin Sorensen were destined to start Firehouse Subs®. Of course, they tried other things along the way to their American Dream – rock ’n’ roll, real estate, and even Christmas tree farming. But everything the experienced on their path led them to opening the first Firehouse Subs.
