MT. CARMEL GUILD REFLECTS ON LEGACY AT FOUNDERS' DAY MASS
Mt Carmel Guild's third annual Founders' Day Mass brought renewed focus to the importance of charity and provided an opportunity for reflection, as work continues in support of care receivers throughout Trenton and Mercer County.
The Mass was held on March 26 at St. George Church in Titusville, and brought together current and former staff of the Guild, Mission Members, board members and their families, volunteers and other affiliates.

Msgr. Thomas Gervasio, Vicar General and Pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows - St. Anthony Parish, Hamilton, served as principal celebrant, while Fr Stephen Sanseverre served as homilist with concelebrants, Msgr John Dermond and Dick Currie
Bishop David O'Connell, head of the Diocese of Trenton was represented by his delegate, Brenda Rascher, who delivered remarks on his behalf.
"Thanks to the inspiration and charity that motivated the late Bishop Walsh and the Guild’s founders in 1920, the Mt. Carmel Guild has been a continuous beacon of light and hope and love for the poor and elderly of Mercer County here in the Diocese of Trenton," the Bishop wrote.
His message underscored Fr. Sansevere's homily on the story of Lazarus in John 11, which was used to illustrate the redeeming nature of hope.

The Mass was then followed by a reception at the home of Guild Trustee, Terri Olexa and her husband George.
Mount Carmel Guild was founded in 1920 as a grassroots charity organization by Bishop Thomas J. Walsh and continues today in service to Trenton and the wider Mercer County.

GUILD FUN FRIDAY BRINGS JOY TO CHILDREN AND SENIORS IN TRENTON
The Guild's food pantry was teeming with excitement on March 10 as care receivers arrived for their usual care packages of food. What they did not expect was the assortment of toys, craft items and word search puzzles we also had for them.

"So many choices!" exclaimed one parent who quickly selected a Doodlematic Mobile Game Maker for her son.
