• Coney Island Process Improvement: Tasked to assist the DOS Electrical Motors Shop in Coney Island on improving their AC/ DC motors SMS and R&R processes. This project will redesign the process flows, re-layout the space constraints combining the work into one building & improve effectiveness by accounting for the increase in future demand for AC motors and planned decrease for DC motors due to NYCT fleet updates. Deliverables include:(1) Building Layout Re-Design & Improve Aging Equipment. (2) Expedite procurement process on already approved bid request for new AC/DC Traction Motor Washer, purchase new shop materials. (3) Create an ALL-SHOP database of ‘useful life’ vs. current state for ALL equipment in Electric-motor shop (later for all shops at CI) - for most is past useful life. (C.S. Process) and (4) Update all the SOP Manuals and create a new communications training video to do SMS & R&R Repairs for the shop to promote the Coney Island Job and new hire job recruitment.
