This form is inspired from the mushroom or umbrella columns as the supporting structure. The mushroom column supports the waffle slabs where, mushroom column with waffle slab forms a single structure covered with the prestressed translucent membrane
STRUCTURE
Organic architecture refers to designing and building structures and spaces that are balanced with their natural surroundings and tailored to the function they serve for their inhabitants. Organically designed structures seem to meld with the landscape or rise from it as if the surrounding spaces gave birth to them

PLAN
The interweaving waffle-like wooden panels rise from concrete base reinforced with steel, which are positioned in such a way to architecturally form canopies and walkways below the parasols. Waffle Parasol was given this contemporary organic design to explore the potential that becomes the new fashionable, modern-day urban center. The exhibition waffle pavilion function as a unique organic urban space within the crowded and dense fabric of the city center of Ambattur allows for a variety of activities to be performed. The scheme of the design with its imposing timber structure offers a range of attractions and amenities to be used by the public. Such functions include an exhibition space, a small market, multiple bars and restaurants underneath.
SKIN OF THE STRUCTURE
