About the Raiders • MSOE is coming off its first win of the season, 3-1 at Lake Forest Friday.

• Six different Raiders have scored goals this season, with Aly Loepfe and Nora Adkins leading the team with two goals each. Carley Mitus shares the team lead with four points on a goal and two assists, while Brooke Zidek has also set up a pair of scores.

• Allison Lessila made her first collegiate start in goal Friday and picked up the win with four saves. She has a 0.78 GAA and .875 save percentage in just over 115 minutes of action this season.

• Five freshmen were in the starting lineup for the first game of the season and a pair of rookies scored goals in Adkins and Gabby Hoffman. MSOE had not had two freshmen score in an opener since 2007.

• The 2017 schedule is quite a difficult run of games for MSOE as Chicago, UW-Whitewater, Knox, and Hope each made the NCAA Tournament last season. Calvin was a tourney team in 2015 and UW-La Crosse spent much of 2016 nationally ranked.

• The Red & White has won 18-straight NACC contests and 22-straight games against NACC foes (including post-season).

• The Raiders were picked first in the NACC preseason poll with 14 first-place votes.

About Knox • The Prairie Fire is coming off its first win of the season Wednesday, a 2-0 shutout of UW-Platteville.

• Knox is coming off a dominant 2016 campaign in which it went 19-1-1 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. Its only loss came to eventual national champion WashU. • Kayla Brown leads the team with two goals in three games this season. She notched team highs of 18 goals, nine assists, and 45 points last season.

first meeting • The Prairie Fire was picked to repeat as league champs in the MWC preseason poll.

The team went 9-0 last season and returned all 11 starters.

Last Time Out The Raiders scored two goals in the final 10 minutes to defeat Lake Forest 3-1 for their first win of the season Friday. MSOE struck for the game’s first goal in just the seventh minute, but played at a stalemate after the Forester tied the match just under 10 minutes later. Loepfe, Jeray Riffel, and Gracie Horton each found the back of the net, with Horton’s first collegiate goal standing up as the game-winner.

Series History MSOE and Knox are meeting for the first time today. The Raiders have, however, posted am 11-9-1 record against current members of the Midwest Conference and have won five-straight meetings against MWC teams. The Prairie Fire are MSOE’s second-straight MWC foe with St. Norbert coming up on the road Wednesday.
