Old Masters to Monet: Three Centuries of French Painting from the Wadsworth Atheneum The Annie Laurie Swaim Hearin Memorial Exhibition Series The Mississippi Museum of Art proudly presents the thirteenth exhibition in The Annie Laurie Swaim Hearin Memorial Exhibition Series, Old Masters to Monet: Three Centuries of French Painting from the Wadsworth Atheneum. Begun nearly twenty-one years ago, the Hearin series of exhibitions continues to bring world-renowned artwork to the people of Mississippi and beyond. The Robert M. Hearin Support Foundation generously funds the successful series, but ultimately the exhibitions are a way for the children of Annie Laure Swaim Hearin to pay tribute to their mother, who was a member of the Museum’s board, was instrumental in developing the Mississippi Museum of Art Foundation, and who graciously served as a volunteer in the original Palette Café, among her many other contributions to the Jackson art world. In 1992, the inaugural exhibition of The Annie Laurie Swaim Hearin Memorial Exhibition series featured the Harold Samuel Collection of eighty-four Dutch and Flemish paintings from the seventeenth century, which traveled the See Old Masters, Page 2
