Surrendering Control

Surrendering Control Once we understand that we cannot have control, then we can surrender to what is in control; God, and let Him continue to run the universe. Sometimes we sense God’s hidden power, but we feel it as fear and we contract. But there is nothing in God to inspire fear: Fear is only the label we put on our own awe, and perhaps bewilderment, when we sense His power, a power we cannot possibly comprehend, and we fear we are losing control. We all want to experience living and vitality. We also want life very safe and secure and under our control. But anyone who ever feared doing something, and then went ahead and did it, embraced the enemy. And the fear turned into confidence and a great sense of accomplishment. These people will be eager to do the same thing again. The first time may have been an accident, or luck, but the second time will be a determined choice. And once we make a determined choice to do something, we become free in it. Not free from it, but free in it. Perfect Surrender Is Perfect Protection We often need to surrender control in order to receive whatever it is we are asking for. Most people look at surrender as a negative; they think it means defeat. But look at it this way: To surrender is to protect yourself from further harm or hurt. Every country that surrenders immediately starts healing and building. Every country that keeps fighting an impossible battle and won’t surrender keeps going downhill, killing, and destroying itself.
