Not into cooking? That’s cool. City Farm is, and is open for you to dine at. The eatery, named Farm Food is a unique space that resembles a backyard garden for you to enjoy your food. With a grass floor, picnic tables, garden utensils, food growing in the windows, and a rotating seasonal menu, Farm food will make you feel relaxed while you enjoy your meal. You may be dining with people you just met, or those you have know for years. The experience is stated nicely by April, who says “It is nice to have a place to share a meal with friends, and not have to spend a fortune.” Busy day? No worries, Farm Food has to-go containers ready for you to take on the run. The to-go items are designed to allow you to eat while walking, or to take home. Salads come in open pitas, that allow you to eat right out of. You are then able to eat the “bowl”, which creates less waste, and more food. Sandwiches are rolled in paper bags pieces, so you can easily rip off the part you want to eat, while still keeping the sandwich intact. Not eating on the run? You can take everything you bought, and transport it in the take-home bag for later.

City Farm Come On In

The Farm Food menu changes seasonally, or as foods are available. Although growing indoors allows us to extend the season, we still grow our foods seasonally and the menu rotates around this. We are able to just change out the wooden menu on the hooks with the new one, and our guests can get new foods every couple months. Checking in frequently will introduce you to new varieties and ingredients, which you can then find in the shop to bring home. “I love being able to try foods before I buy them”, says Heather who can be a picky eater. “I like being able to make sure I like the taste before bringing the new varieties home.”
