The 2019-2020 school year brought with it a number of challenges that impacted the usage and scope of the Larkspur LLC. As a teacherlibrarian, I worked to face these challenges and continued to strive to provide a comprehensive program than enabled students, educators and the broader school community to access the library's resources to push f o r w a r d o n t h e i r o w n l e a r n in g journeys.

STORY TIME WITH MRS. LYONS

12

In order to help bring the Larkspur community together, we created a live storytime using YouTube Live to enable families to gather together and listen to a story being read by Mrs. Lyons. The video links to each story were shared with the community using the Virtual Library Learning Commons website for families that were able to watch live or wanted to re-watch the stories. Each story had an average of 100+ views by the community. Once June arrived and the number of live viewers dropped, Mrs. Lyons began to pre-record the books and create other ways for the community to interact with the read alouds (i.e. digital breakout, theme based virtual libraries, inquiry sparks, etc)

Video links will no longer work as the read alouds have been removed to comply with publisher copyright guidelines.
