Y5s/Kdg./1st Grade
Fourth Grade Reading : This week, we worked on two learning targets: I can check for understanding, and I can reread for fluency. We read the book Adventures of Riley: Madagascar.
Reading: This week, we worked on the learning targets of: I can check for understanding as I read and I can read c-v-c words. We read the books Cookie’s Week, and The Weather Chart.
Writing: This week we launched a new writing project describing our New Years resolutions. During this writing we will focus on the learning target: I can add details to my writing.
Writing: This week, we worked on the learning target: I can add details to my writing. We finished our animal writings and launched a New Years resolutions writing. Math: Our learning targets this week were: I can count nickels and pennies, and I can count to 30. We also
Word Study: This week, we talked using known spelling of words to help us spell other words in the same word family. This supported our learning target: I can spell frequently encountered words.
Second Grade
Math: This week, we worked on the learning targets of: I can multiply two digit numbers with regrouping and I can divide two digit numbers with remainders.
Reading: This week, our learning target was: I can check for understanding while I read. We read the book Martin Luther King, Jr.: A First Biography.
Fifth Grade
Writing: This week, we worked on the learning target: I can add details to my writing. We finished our animal writings and launched a New Years resolutions writing. Third Grade
Writing: 5th grade spelling bee practiced started this week, and took up most of our writing time. During the time we had for writing we focused on the learning target, I can add details to my writing, by continuing to work on our Castaway paper.
Reading: This week, we worked on the learning targets: I can check for understanding and I can cross check as I read. We read the books Ella Sarah Gets Dressed, Horrible Harry and the Ant Invasion and Martin Luther King, Jr.: A First Biography.
Word Study: This week, we worked on the learning target: I can spell words with the /ue/ sound. These are words such as few, blue, moon, etc.
