Not many know the City of Stars is home to a collection of audio and visual technology spanning an entire century, and not many know you can find it all on Main Street. At 416 E Main, the Texas Museum of Broadcasting & Communications is home to radios, TVs, television cameras and telephones from the advent of telecommunications until today, and that's only some of the collection. One of the best kept secrets in East Texas is “Studio 4” at the Texas Broadcast Museum in downtown Kilgore. “Studio 4” is an events center located within the Museum. It’s perfect for groups of up to 100 adults seated at tables, or 200 people seated theater style. It’s complete with three state of the art 150 inch video screens, a great sound system, wireless microphones, a stage large enough to accommodate most bands, a Hammond organ, fiber optic Internet and video streaming facilities. The Texas Broadcast Museum is rapidly becoming one of the largest collections of its kind anywhere. There is so much to see and do, with lots of history attached. Museum docents are available during events to explain and demonstrate the many exhibits. Museum hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. or by appointment for groups.
