Ledwig Dance Academy

or the fifth consecutive year, Ledwig Dance Academy has been voted the top dance school in Victoria’s Best of the Best. Once again, owner Stephanie Ledwig offers her appreciation: “We offer dance classes for ages 2 and up in ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, contemporary, acro, pointe and competitive dance. We’re proud that we’re able to offer classes for both competitive and non -competitive dancers and give 100% to both programs. “The teaching staff at Ledwig Dance Academy are passionate about what they do. We love working with kids and we love teaching dance. We work hard collectively to make sure our dancers are our first priority. Our staff attends conventions and training to learn new things and apply what we learn to our classes.

isher’s Auto Sales was named the winner for Best Used Car Dealer in the Crossroads. For 21 years, the used car dealer has focused on service and customer relationships, and that dedication has been rewarded. “We have a lot of people who have come to us and bought vehicles from us who say they bought from other places, and the minute they drive a lot, they're on their own,” said Roberta Fisher, Fisher’s Auto Sales co-owner. “That's not how we are. We believe that if you buy a vehicle from us ... we're here to ensure that vehicle will run properly.” When selling a used product, it comes with its own history, and Fisher Auto Sales wants to ensure its customers get a quality vehicle. “We fix everything that we can find that needs fixing. Sometimes, that means

addressing a little faded paint. We spend a lot reconditioning our vehicles because we want our customers to be happy from the get-go.” Fisher’s husband, Charles Fisher, is the forward face of the business. The laid- back atmosphere among people who have been there for years has resulted in regular strong relationships with their customers. “He's just an honest, decent person, and people have grown to really like him. When they deal with Mr. Fisher, they know he’s a good man,” Fisher said. Winning the Best of the Best award

made Roberta Fisher quite emotional, she said. They put everything into their business, including part of her retirement and a small loan from her mother-in-law, she said. “We just believed in what we do. We have bought used vehicles, years ago ourselves and got burned and just swore that we weren't going to do that,” Fisher said.

Las Palmas Mexican Bar & Grill

he perfect margarita can be hard to find. It’s not easy to find just the right balance between sweet, citrus and sour, but Las Palmas has perfected the drink. Las Palmas has been in business for about 20 years, and this year they have been chosen as the winner for best margarita. The restaurant also has a robust menu that can satisfy any hungry or thirsty person. Las Palmas has three locations in Victoria—at 6007 N. Main Street, at 212 S. Main St. and 4601 John Stockbauer Drive. “We’re trying to be No. 1 in all three restaurants—Las Palmas, La Cantina Tacos and Tequila and Casa Leon Cantina,” owner Ruben Leon said. The perfect margarita starts with the perfect mix, and Las Palmas has that mix, which has led to Victoria Advocate readers recognizing Las Palmas

Mexican Bar & Grill as having the most perfect margarita in town. “It’s a favorite for sure,” Frank Martinez, general manager, said. Unlike lesser margaritas, which are often too tart for their own good, Las Palmas’ margarita is deliciously smooth but also complex. Martinez attributes the success of the drink to a carefully curated mix that combines a bouquet of balanced flavors. The in-house mix that gives it its perfect smoothness and flavor is a closely guarded secret. “It’s always smooth, Martinez said. “I’m the only one who makes it. That’s how much pride we have in it.” The drink also lends itself to a number of customizable flavors from sangria to peach and strawberry to mango. It easily adapts to a variety of tequilas available at the restaurant. The drink is equally delicious whether it’s

frozen or on the rocks. “If we can get the flavor, we will do it,” Martinez said. The restaurant also offers a full Tex Mex menu along with its drinks, making it an ideal destination for any meal or gathering.

ospice of South Texas specializes in end-of-life care. We offer hospice services wherever the patient calls home, whether in a nursing home facility, assisted living, or their own home. We also have the only inpatient hospice facility in the Crossroads. We are very proud of the CMS 5-star rating that we have received. This rating is based on surveys that the families receive after their loved one passes through hospice services. The Center of Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) then takes those surveys and gives the hospice agency a rating. We are so proud of that 5-star rating, because it shows the type of care your loved one will receive with Hospice of South Texas. atthew and Bethany Hernandez had an inkling that, if they started their own business, it would be successful. Neither one, however, were prepared for the extent of what has happened in the first year of existence for Mighty Air Techs. The Hernandez’ dream of delivering excellent service to the Crossroads area in heating, ventilation and air conditioning services has been more than realized in the short span of 12 months. Social media and word of mouth have sung the praises of the Hernandez’s efforts, so much so that Mighty Air Techs (MAT, playing upon Matthew’s name) has been named the Victoria Advocate’s Best of the Best for 2025 for area Heating and Air Conditioning companies. In only one year, the company’s Facebook following has swelled to

1,800 followers and coupled with five-star customer reviews on Google, Matthew’s work calendar always stays full. “It’s been awesome,” Matthew said. “I was nervous at first when we decided to start our own business, but we’ve been busy from the start. We were very surprised. As soon as we teased our logo and posted it, the buzz got around. People kept sharing it and sharing it. “We’re always shooting to be the best, and we want to do quality over quantity,” Bethany said. “To get this award after only a year is amazing, and it’s very unexpected.” Matthew’s years of experience and expertise in the business has translated to customer satisfaction. He began working with an HVAC company at the age of 18, and he’s been involved in the business for more than 10 years now.

He now has his contractor’s license. The company has grown to three full-time employees, and Mighty Air Techs has two company vans at its disposal. Shortly after they started the business, the Hernandez’s were blessed again with the conception of a child, a son named Milo that was born on Jan. 31. “Everything has all happened so fast,” Bethany said. “We’re certainly blessed.”
