IT has been predicted that the 25 per cent fall in property sales in WA during the past year will result in more highly skilled real estate agents. Industry mentor Shane Kempton, chief executive of ClickYou, said the current downturn in the real estate market would result in a focus on quality rather than quantity in the sales forces of many real estate agencies. “The slowing in real estate sales last financial year saw a 13.2 per cent decline in the number of applications processed for real estate licences and a 12.8 per cent decline in the number of people seeking registration as sales representatives. “Fewer people are deciding to join the real estate industry and more people are leaving due to the significant fall in real estate sales during 2008. “REIWA figures show that during the twelve months ending 2008, the sales of
