Interview by Aytwala

First Time...

My mother was a singer at my current age and as she learned that i was also blessed with the ability to sing as well, wich was around 3, I immediately began to audition for plays and children choruses. At a later age, i enrolled in an all-city choir as well as a downtown Chicago music school and excelled there. Growing up on the southside of Chicago, you see plenty of everything. From a music strandpoint though, is where I truly connect from the soul. And that’s been since a child listenning to Hip Hop & Old School Music. I grew up on that and it was truly an amazing privilege.

HIGHLIGHTS...

Everything is so exciting it’s hard to choose, but definitely being in rotation on WGCI. I mean, it’s Chicago’s #1 radio station for Hip Hop and R&B. That’s huge! That was and still is a great experience! Also, the premiere of my video “Killa Kam” on 106 & Park was a moment i will never forget. It was a dream come true.

YOUR CREW...

First on my team always is God. He is MVP. Of course my family and close friends. The support and love i receive from them cannot go unacknowledged. And of course i must thank OneSun Ent, Frayne Lewis, Shorty Capone, Roosevelt Allen, Lourdes, Excel & Stereo! It’s an honor to lay my vocals on such amazing tracks!

CHALLENGE...

My biggest challenge is definitely learning to get used to everything. It’s a blessing, dont get me wrong, but when your dreams are coming true right before your eyes, it’s overwhelming a vast majority of the time. But i dont let that stop me. As an artist, i want to speak to people through my music. I want to pro-

duce a strong woman vibe where even if you are going through something, it’s not the end of the world. I want people to be able to relate. I want my music to make them say “She’s singing my life”. I have a desire to inspire. Knowing that other people feel when i’m coming from is what makes me happy.

TOP 3 Emcees..

In no specified order, Jay-Z, Drake and Kanye West all the way. And i stand by those choice because i relate to their music, somehow, some way, every time.

TOP 3 Videos..

Oh my, only three? Well, number one right off of the background, “Thriller”(Michael Jackson), At a strong tie for second and third, “Big Pimpim” (Jay-Z) & “Flashing Lights ‘Kanye West.

PROJECTS...

Right now, i am hard at work completing my first album. But soon, i will be more seen & heard! I just thank everyone for sticking with me even though they dont know what’s coming next!

DREAM...

My dreams as an artist are simple. I just want to touch people. I want people to listen to my music and feel that they can relate. I just want to be legendary and remembered forever. As a woman, i should always want to look and feel strong. And that’s how my music allows me to come off. I sing about love, but i sing about how you can get through it. Just as a young woman, growing into a more mature woman. I would want people to look at me & my craft as such.

God gave me a gift that he wants to share with the world and i have accepted, shaped and molded that gift to become a better person as well as a better artist. I am grateful for the opportunity and i’m not going to let it pass me by. That’s why 2014 is my year.” KAM

BIRTH PLACE...

CHALLENGE...

HIGHLIGHTS...

TOP 3...

I was born in Brixton, South London, United Kingdom December 7th 1987. I used to listen to music from a very young age. I was mainly into Hip-hop but I really started writing around the age of 16 when the genre Grime 1st started to get big over here. Growing up in South London the Hip-hop scene was really small. Everyone loved it but most artists were doing Garage, Jungle, Grime or house music at the time. It’s only as I got older that a lot of artists started to do Hip-Hop. As I’ve matured as an artist Hip-Hop is what I now represent to the core REAL HIP-HOP that is.

There are so many highlights but the main ones for me are making over £4,000 for charity through my E.P ‘Paying Homage to the King’ in a year. It was crazy. I never expected to make so much. Getting the story of my E.P in over 40 newspapers, websites & blogs including MTV I never expected so much support. Performing live at the mayor’s charity dinner in front of many different mayors from all over London. Going on BBC Radio & Ben TV to talk about my music. Being nominated for 3 awards in a year (the Official Mixtape Awards), Croydon Champion’s Award & Beffta (Black Entertainment Film Fashion Televison & Arts) Awards. Last but definitely not least was going back to back rapping with legendary rapper Krs-One at a hotel when he came to tour London... that was a big highlight.

YOUR CREW...

The movement behind me, Ragz-CV, is ‘Cleverly Versatile’ which is a label, Team & what I like to call my dynasty. I have many people behind the scenes and doing their own thing on my team helping me out including my manager Adam Porter-Blake, Business Partner, Friend & Comedian Junior Booker, Photographer/Graphic designer Lucy Davis, PR Jusnah Diamond Gadi, Web designer Harry Azariah, Producer’s Henley Simpson/my granddad Robbie ‘King’ Robinson Amazing singers Naomi Keysha/Deleelah & Video Director/ Editor Serge. I have an amazing team which help push me to my limits I’m thankful to have them all on board.

16 16

“Rapper with a Cause”

My biggest challenge is getting my music to the masses. Once that happens I believe I will be received well for my honesty and skill in music. When I make music, it’s just me letting off my frustrations & knowledge on to a page. I try to make music with substance; I want people to feel something when they hear me rap. That’s why most of my music has a message to it I don’t write just for the sake of it. A lot of people call me a role model now after what I did with my E.P. I want to continue raising money for charity through my music & inspire youths to be positive.

Hard question as I mostly listen to 90’s Hip-Hop with my all time favourites being Big L, Biggie & 2pac but the best lyricists alive would have to be Nas, Eminem & Method Man

PROJECTS...

I’m back in the studio working on a new album. The 1st single off that is due to hit spring next year but some new stuff could be dropping a lot earlier to build the buzz for an album I really believe in.

DREAM...

My dream is to make a good living off what I do best make music & try to help misfortunate people especially young people through my music.

RAGZ CV

I’m Lyrical, Real & Positive. As a person I’m confident, outgoing & very blunt (hence the name Ragz) I let people see the real Ragz-CV in my music, listen closely and you’ll learn a lot about my character through my lyrics.

My partnership with PACER National Bullying Preventation Center allows for me to meet this goal and to provide my fans with helpful resources to overcome bullying.” STATS

>> About thirty percent of students in the United States are involved in bullying on a regular basis either as a victim, bully or both. These school bullying statistics show what a problem bullying of all kinds in the United States has become. The recent school bullying statistics show that cyber bullying is becoming increasingly prevalent on school property as well as involving students even when they are not at school. Because of this growing number of kids affected by bullying, more and more schools throughout the country are cracking down on the measures taken to stop bullying. via http://www.bullyingstatistics.org Let’s talk about the message behind your music. Obviously, you are very involved in Bully Prevention. Personally, did you face bullying at school? Yes, I faced bullying first hand when I was in elementary school. I learned at a very young age how important it is to be yourself and not let others hold you back from reaching your dreams and telling you that you are not good enough. Can you tell us more about the Bully Prevention Movement? Since I was bullied as a child, I decided at a very young age that I wanted to do something to help other kids overcome bullying and show them that they are important. My partnership with PACER National Bullying Preventation Center allows for me to meet this goal and to provide my fans with helpful resources to overcome bullying. How can you define your musical background? At a young age, I took piano lessons at a local music school. One day in my lesson, I started to sing to a song and my teach said “hey, you’re a good singer”. Several years later, I entered a Talent Show at my elementary school and brought down the house where I sang Image by the Beattles acapella. #HIPHOP #VIOLENCE

There is too much violence in general if you ask me, music is a form of self expression but there has to be a time and place where the artist draws the line, the body count on some of the albums out today is higher than an 80’s slasher movie. People are becoming more desensitized as a whole and i don’t blame any specific forum, especially not music... FRESH ISSUE FEATURING FYRARE 11/25/2013

#SPAIN “Well I like to sing, especially flamenco is the original

song my land...”

At what point in your life did you know that you wanted to be a model? I’ve always loved that scene, since childhood, when I was not even aware, until I was noticed by my agency. My mother supported me, thanks to her, I am where I am today . How is the modeling industry in your area? Do you feel that there are a lot of opportunities for young upcoming models? I hope I am. Unfortunately, I’m in a small town girl (Osuna), there is nothing to do with the world of fashion and modeling, and economically, we are not well enough to travel unless the journey getting paid. How many tattoos you got ? None , though I love them, but in the modeling world, I know it’s better to keep my skin clean.

For you, what characteristics are the most important to succeed in this industry? Education, Strength , Perseverance , especially being a humble person and nobody or nothing will stop you. Who would you say is the personn that did really inspire you? I love Amanda kerr, She gives me confidence and I would say Kate Moss as well, being petite & different... She rose to the Top. Do you plan on going into other things like acting? Well I like to sing, especially flamenco that is the original music from my country but I am a person who can go on everything, I love theater and if I could financially, i would take some dance classes. I love the world of music... I still have a lot to learn.

What do you do in your spare time when you are not modeling? Earlier I worked in a real estate secretary, then a costume shop and finally cleaning houses, theaters, now the situation in Spain is very bad and there is no work so I am currently studying the average degree of administration. My priority is to find a job to feed my family. Your favorite ice cream flavor? Chocolate and lemon... WERID NAH? :-) but trust me it’s amazingly delicious!

think about what’s going on in the world, or getting into the nitty gritty about relationships, or just being who you are and not allowing people to dictate who you are – that something people are going to connect with. I’m not going to go as far as 50 Cent and say “I want ‘em to love me like they loved Pac”, but in a way just like somebody from the street to the corporate office could sit down and appreciate 2Pac I think its the same for my music.

Interview by Kalista

FOLLOW ME @SLAMTHEPRODUCER

In a few words, I can define myself as an eternal lover of music, perfectionist, eclectic, with a thirst for success. BEST QUOTE?

BIRTH PLACE… I am Dj Beatmaker from the north of France. I started at the age of 17 years through a DJ competition sponsored by Vestax brand. The idea of producing my instrumentals came quickly and after I understood what I was doing. Very soon, I left my hometown to Paris to get and expand my network and I signed with a record company, Sony BMG. After that, I went canvassing in the U.S, especially in NYC, where I had some great artistic events such as Jim Jones, Uncle Murda, Jamie Drastik (Pit bull artist), Lumidee, Drake, Clyde Carson, Mr Criminal, Baby Bash , stash, neeek, ATM .... I am also in contact with many other artists with whom I hope to have fruitful collaborations and live my American Dream. STRENGTH… I think my biggest strength is the eclecticism that is my ability to adapt myself to different music and put my personal touch. I love challenges! Lately I started to make summer beats, very popular in Europe. I also did the sound of the commercial for Vossen Wheels and Audi .. If you want to grind, I think You need to touch everything. 32

YOUR CREW… I still do everything alone, artistic side, and the business side, it is hard and not always easy because you may have affinities with some people and you are obliged at one time or another to talk biz... At the same time the business side allows me to see further, as clothing lines or accessories of sports cars ... a kind of self-made man contractor. And anyway as we say in France “it is never better served than by yourself.” CHALLENGE… I’ve already done one, i did produce for artists that I listened to as a young man, it’s like putting one foot in the NBA for me. (Yes I play basketball too :)). When I write, I try to touch the listeners and make them feel that special emotion. It is the mix of love, hate, rage, nostalgy... when I listen to music, I get chills, even tears so I want the listener to feel the same with my melodies. TOP 3 MC’S… It is hard to choose, there are so many ... I’d say Drake much for his smooth RNB rap side, Ace Hood, and Fred The Godson who is really UNDERRATED!

TOP 3 VIDEOS... Hard question man! I would say Tupac - California Love-, Mickeal Jackson Thriller-and Notorious Big-Hypnotize! PROJECTS... We try every day to get as much as possible. I worked on the new album of Melissa M, which is one of the most famous singers in France, I did a dance beat for ” Big Ali” (the equivalent of Fat Man Scoop in Europe) and other projects are coming up with Lumidee, Lord Kossity, Demarco, TLF..... (All Dance, Hip Hop) rappers and singers included french nightclubs. 2014... I hope that 2014 will indeed be my year! Anyway I’m pretty happy with the year 2013, which is not yet finished so other projects can be added. Year after year the projects are bigger, also I thank the people around me and the people who has always supported me. For 2014, a lot of things are planned all over the globe.

How was the Hip Hop music industry in Australia when you were younger? Non existent. I actually discovered hip hop on the internet. It changed my whole world. It excited me. Every industry still has sexism – either for or against males or females Is there too much violence in Hip Hop nowadays? I don’t think there is more violence in Rap than what is in Society. ROBIRDIE

Interview by Aitwala

“In order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.” My First Hip-Hop Krush... I am from Cairo, IL. Cairo is at the bottom of Illinois. People that visit that city, call it the “Baby Chicago”, because of the things that goes on in Cairo. Just think about what’s going on in ATL, St. Louis, are any other major city and it’s going on in my town. Alot of people know and call cairo The Ro, short for Cairo. Where i was born... I was born and raised in Cairo, IL. I have lived in the hood my whole life. Trying to fight my way out since day one. First Time I fell in Love Hip-Hop... once I heard “ Juicy” by Biggie in 1994, I feel in love with Hip-Hop, because at first all I use to listen to R&B, because that’s all the old folks use to listen to at card games, like R. Kelly, Tank, and many more people. I was only about 7 years old around this time. But I was outside playing and came in the house from playing basketball and the channel was on BET and I heard a voice say “now I’m in the limelight cause I rhyme tight, time to get paid, blow up like the world trade, born singer, the opposite of a winner, remember when I used to eat sardines for dinner” I was thinking in my mind who is this, because I couldn’t say nothing because my mouth was wide open the whole time the video was on. When the video ended, I saw the name B.I.G. and loved Hip-Hop and his music every since. The song that got me in... The song that I have done that made me feel like I should be in Hip-Hop, was when I was done with my intro. on my second Mixtape Paid-N-Full, which is on datpiff.com/paid-n-full, but once I finished the song and listened to it, I felt like everybody in my city and anyone who just been stuck in poverty across the world, who just been fighting to see bet ter da My Krazy Story... will be having to be a man as a young boy. I say that, because once I got 12 or 13 years old, my mother was gone and I never knew my father, so the streets and my older sister raised me and my brothers and sisters. So I guess you can call me a rebel and to me, that’s a krazy story and life. The Most Incredible Story: The Most Incredible thing that happen to me was the first time hearing my voice over a beat. Before I got in the booth to record, I was thinking like what am I doing. Then I was like I love music, so this shouldn’t be nothing and I got up and got in the booth and killed it. Since that day it’s been no games just music making and fighting to survive.

Street Story... Growing up in the streetz taught me to trust nobody, because everybody in the streetz are just trying to get ahead. Like I was saying earlier, my mother left and I never knew my father and doing this time I was still in school, so I had to do what I had to do. So the people in the streetz helped me, because I could play ball and if you can play ball around here, your good people got you. As I got older I was still playing ball and in the streetz playing around. Then one day, me and some friends were outside after 12am and the police started chasing us for nothing. The whole time I was just hoping the police didn’t catch me, because I know what I was doing at the time, but I made it home and all I was thinking about was all the things a person got to do to survive on these streetz. As a Man and Artist... The streetz is my music and the streetz made me as the person I am today BIRDIE. People in my city call me Ro Birdie, because of the city of Cairo and my name Birdie. I know I got the streetz and my city behind me, so like Weezy say,” I dont got no worries.” My 2014 Projects... I got the album called No-Pen-No-Pad coming out in January and a few weeks after that I got the Mixtape called Downloaded coming out and I got songs already done for both, so just trying to work hard in 2014. Why i got next.. I believe I’m the fans next krush, because im just out here trying to be me and I’m a person who loves to make music and don’t care about getting paid for something I love and that’s just real talk. My dreams... is to get more people to listen to my music and help people who want to be helped, because you can help everybody in the world, but everybody in the world don’t need help, so I just want to help my people as a whole regardless of race. I believe I’m different... because I don’t try to steal nobody rap style or swagg. I do my own thing and stay in my own lane. Everything I say in my lyrics are true! . The tweet... that keep me doing my music regardless of what a person say is a tweet by @besttweets. The tweet said “In order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.” I feel like that’s all me, because I want stop doing something I love and dreamed about my whole life.

“Ten years from now... More money for young artist more beef and gangs more black entertainers more sounds different styles” I grew up listening to No Limit & Master P. They had a big im-

pact on me growing up... Just his down south talk, Beats were real crunk. They wore gold chains, gold shades, they had all the money & street cred. I wanted to do whatever just to be like him or be signed to No Limit. Today I still ride and play their music like it’s new. I was born in Bronx (NY) but I was raised in Charlotte, NC with a single parent. My daddy was in prison for murder and just was back and forth out of jail for hustling. My mama raised me and my other 6 slibings. She tried her best to keep us dressed nice and food on the table but sometimes it was hard for us. We struggled but we survived and that’s how all the music was about struggling and surviving and Master P made a name for himelf after “Bout it bout it” came out. That let me know they live, feel and have the same motives as me but trying to be legit all in one.

The most incredible story that happened to me... hum..I

paid 1200$ to perform for webbie, and I didn’t even get to perform for him. My home boy was trying to let him know I was here to perform for him. Finally, they called me to come on stage with him. I was like foreal shocked, happy as fuck! Got on stage with him and was smoking that loud. My nigga was talking to lil Trill from Trill Ent. I remember her running over to me like “bra bra he was like you with Moët RARIGANG”? She came back over “bra he knows your name! My nigga came back and told me he got Lil Trill number! I hit Lil Trill da next day and I asked him “what’s up with a feat”? and he said he would do it when I am ready!

years later I’m living the celebrity life, doing shows, people knows my name and I’m in the studio every week grinding and doing watever it takes to get me to the top. There are not a lot of female rappers in the industry and this is my dream and I have a passion for Rap . I went through a lot to get here and my music speaks for itself like i am about money, enjoying life but i know it’s a cold world and I’m ready for whatever comes with the rap game. Just from my style, I got a Different sound than others and I rap what I live. I want people to know me, feel my music and understand I’m just like them, just got a lil money and fame but I’m human. I do it from the heart and for the hustle and the people who struggling , want to be in this position... I’m NEXT!

“I’m honest about my art, my life and just the way I live. I pay for everything I do. Nobody helped me to get here” My Dreams...To make it BIG in the industry, take care of my

family, live the life I always wanted to..... Like performing, making music with da best and let people hear my story and understand dreams do come true... You just gotta strive to make it!

I’m So Different... Cause I’m honest about my art, my life

and just the way I live. I pay for everything I do, nobody helped me to get here. I’m not kissing ass or pretend to get signed or make a name for myself.... I got a different type of flow and I’m not just a one hit wonder or a ordinary rapper!

My opinion... about the current state of Hip Hop? It’s more who got BIG money, who hustle harder, who chain shining... it’s not about lyrics... like if you got a good beat, a great chorus, that’s the song people be fake but that’s not real rap for me! #FAKEMUSIC

Ten years from Now... More money for young artist more beef and gangs more black entertainers more sounds different styles

Is Hip Hop too materialistic? Yes because all the game matter how who got the most money, who got the fastest car ,who got the nicest clothes and chains or watches... it’s bigger than music. it’s more hardcore street rap then Hiphop

Women In Hip Hop... It’s only few in the rap game so it’s not

big as the fellas in the rap game but when a woman is in the game she always represent and stands out since it’s not a lot of female artists and I feel it will Always be like that until a lot of females step up and go hard for their names and for the rap game!

What is your definition of BEAUTY? My definition of beauty is just simply being confident in your own skin. Owning what you have. How long have you been in the modeling industry? I have been in the modeling industry for 2 years now. At what point in your life did you know that you wanted to be a model? I knew that I wanted to be a model the first time I looked at a few pictures of myself a friend of mine took. I loved them and I’ve been hooked ever since. At that point I thought, “Hey, I could really be good at this.” Tell us how you are unique compared to other models. what do you bring to the modeling industry? I am unique compared to other models because of my work ethic. I am truly a workaholic. There are really no off days for me until I get to where I want to be. How is the modeling industry in your area? I am from Charlotte, NC and there weren’t a lot of opportunities here when I first started. Now there are a lot more opportunities here for young upcoming models. There are a lot more publications released here and a lot of good photographers. However, for the bigger opportunities, we still have to look to other cities. How many tattoos you got ? I have 2 tattoos. Dance is and will always be my first love. With that being said I have one on the inside of my wrist in which the words Psalms 149:3 are written above a pair of pointe shoes with a staff with music notes behind it. The other which is my favorite is my rosary that goes around my ankle and drops down onto a cross on my foot. A heart connects the two sides and I have my grandfather’s initials written on opposite sides of it. It’s my favorite because it is a constant reminder of him even though he’s not here anymore. Who would you say is the personn that did really inspire you? I honestly do not have a fellow model who has inspired me because I want to be different from all of those before me. The person who really did inspire me is very dear to me. She’s my nana. Ever since I was younger she’s always told me that I could do whatever I set my mind to. She’s backed me up my whole life. She’s the nicest person in the whole world. Everyone loves her. I want to live my life in such a way as she is.

Do you plan on going into other things like acting? Singing? I have toyed with acting a bit here lately. I cannot sing to save my life but I try to. (laughs) As I eluded to before I do dance. I’ve done so since I was 2 years old. What do you do in your spare time when you are not modeling? In my spare time when I am not modeling, I’m shopping and spending time with my friends and family. My family means a lot to me. What body part of yours attracts the most attention? Hmm..what body parts of mine attracts the most attention? I get the most compliments on my lips and my “tootie booty” as guys call it (laughs). Tell us something your parents don’t know about you… (laughing)..umm..my parents are big on saving money. Especially my dad and I am addicted to sneakers. I used to buy a new pair every paycheck when I was about 16 or 17. They would fuss about it so it got to the point where I would buy them, sneak them into the house while they were asleep, and hide them in my closet. I would call my grandmother and tell her if they asked her then to say she bought them. She was always my cover. What is, for you, the definition of a DREAMER? My definition of a dreamer is one who has already seen themselves where they want to be and is working hard to achieve it. Someone who wants to leave behind a legacy big enough that it will take them their whole life to accomplish. What is your dream as a model? My dream as a model is to have my face recognizable every time someone sees me and sees my work. I want to create a brand for myself and eventually mentor other girls who have the same modeling aspirations as I did to help them achieve their goals. Your recipe for the perfect romantic date? My recipe for the perfect date would be me coming home to find out that my guy has already taken the time to lay out what he wants me to wear and all I have to do is shower, get dressed, and get in the car. I’d be happy and satisfied with the fact that he planned it all out and made the decisions. Most guys rely on the female to organize everything so it’s much appreciated when they do it. “I often run into comments that would say something like what the awful vocals he got, or he gotta get rid of that scratchy raspy voice etc. I dont try to appear more aggressive. When I step up to the booth and the engineer hits the rec button that’s what I start sound like cuz those are the moments when I pass all my struggles and pain from my life. Yeah I dont sound mainstream but I got some experience which is reflected in my voice. One doesn’t have to be a gangsta to sound rough but got that experience of tough past. That’s why I came up with that Go, Eat, Sleep track.”

The “Up & Down’s” Album... What a big project!... Tell us more! I came up with the name for this album back in 2008, shortly after I released my second studio album “Da Preacher Of Struggle”. Initially I wanted to make it a double CD album – 1 CD would represent the Ups and the other one would represent the Downs. Simply I wanted to share my best and worst times of my life. I did want to put out another story telling album without that swag talk. How long have you worked on this album? As I already said I started to work on it in 2008 and wanted to release it in 2008 as well, I even had all the material written. However I decided to put it on shelf. And it remained there for all these past years until now, when I feel the confidence to give my best. You have some heavy featurings on it...Young Noble, Bizarre, Yukmouth... Let’s focus first on “Big Goals”... The first official single. How did you hook up with Yukmouth? Yukmouth always been one of my favorite rappers. I remember listening to that “Trilogy” album by Thug Lordz (Yukmouth, C-BO & Spice 1) in 2006 and I couldn’t even imagine I’d be working with him one day. However in 2011

I decided to contact his manager and to my surprise, they got back within a couple of hours, offering a deal. Then shortly, Yuk came up with a video announcement, that can be found on my website. It took us longer than expected, because I wanted the single to be solid. We had to do it twice – first time the beat I composed myself which made me feel like it was nothing but an average song so I called my all-the-time engineer and producer Dmitry Kupriyanov and asked him to compose a beat. He did mixing and all post production work as well. Besides I invited my brother St.Rap to join the track with a verse in Russian so we let the world know where we came from. Yukmouth is really a great person without any arrogance.

of them can be found in that report video from the trip. Barcelona and Paris were great but the most time I spent in Frankfurt, Germany and Copenhagen, Denmark. Those were the cities I promoted heavily. Plus in Frankfurt I shot the video for my single “Still…” that features well known rapper A.K.-S.W.I.F.T. Big shout out to “Livity” lounge that plays my single there.

You traveled a lot and recently ended your European Tour. How did the fans (abroad) welcome that hit? What is your best memory (wich city)? I started in Barcelona, Spain. While being there and promoting “Big Goals” I was able to shoot a video for another single off the album “Go, Eat, Sleep”, a really tough song, describing my past and that my tough background shouldn’t be taken for me trying to act gangsta. From Barcelona I went to Paris and promoted it over there too. Hooked up with some cool dawgs and one

“365 Grind” feat Young Noble... How did you find the inspiration to write it? My life is never ended struggle and my name is Struggle. I ain’t need no inspiration to write about what I live daily. I knew that Young Noble would be perfect for this song. Again, Young Noble is that type of dude who is a legend. He personally worked with 2Pac and working with Noble now makes it feel like I’m touching the history and writing new one. Young Noble is also very down to the Earth guy and I got lots of respect for him. 61

Can we expect an official video for “Big Goals”? Mos definitely bro! I’m going to Los Angeles early next year so me and Yuk are going to lock it down. I shoot the part with my bro St.Rap in my hometown Tyumen in Russia and the rest I’ll film in California.

“I am what’s lacking in the game right now. BPDEUCE is a movement, this is more than music. Almost everything these days is following a trend, spit a few quoteables on a dope beat and you got a hit. My goal is for music to be timeless - classic.” Get Connected: www.twitter.com/domkingxxl www.youtube.com/bpdeucetv www.facebook.com/BPDEUCE

“There are far better things ahead than the thngs you leave behind.” Follow me on twitter @ Your first hip hop crush? I wouldn’t call it a crush, but my first rapper on constant rotation was Snoop. I remember when he came out ... my whole hood had Snoop and Dr. Dre BANGING. My family was bumping any and everything Snoop got at the time too. I was a little dude but I knew Snoops verses by heart. My appreciation for Snoop only grew with my age. Around that same time, I always had Ma$e on repeat too... I remember when Snoop went to No Limit after the Death Row/Bad Boy drama and how hype that had everybody! Even though, Snoop was my first in rotation, my favorite rapper has always been Nas. Pac, Biggie, Ice Cube, Snoop, Dr. Dre, Goodie Mob, Master P, Scarface and Ma$e dominated my youth. During my teens I added Ludacris, G-Unit, Eminem, Jay-Z, Outkast, Xzibit, Kanye West and UGK to my system. First time i fell in love with hip hop? Back during the Nas/Jay-Z beef... I used to bump each song of the beef back to back with J.P. and Gift and we would discuss the entire situation. That whole battle was epic. When I first started drivin, “Last Real Nigga Alive” came out by Nas... I couldn’t stop listening to it... before and after school. The beat was so ill and the way Nas put his side of the story down was picture perfect. To this day, I listen to that song once a day. That was the end of an era for sure. I miss battles like that.

Krazy story? November 23rd, 2009...I was in a car wreck that totaled my car and almost took my life. Early in the morning, I was on the way to the corner store to get some rellos and chicken wings... yes chicken wings. Where Im from, corner stores always sell more than just beer and smokes ya feel me? T-Shirts, ribs, chicken wings, hats, watches, whatever you need. Not to get off track, but on the way to the store

I was in a car accident...I dont really know what happened because I lost memory of the whole situation. I was having seizures and had bleeding on the brain so the doctors had to induce me into a coma. When I woke up, my left leg felt like it wasn’t there. I couldn’t feel it, and I could barely move it. I tried every day and I just couldn’t feel it... I could move it a little but it felt like it wasn’t there. My Uncle Gene always came to visit me and this one time he prayed for me. Durin this prayer he put his hands on the leg I had no feeling in. When he prays you feel it, he has power behind his words. He started speaking in tongues while he was praying for me and within a few seconds my leg began to shake uncontrolably. It’s one of the most unbelieveable things I’ve ever witnessed. I slowly began to get feeling back to my leg. It wasn’t easy during recovery, I had to learn to walk again, how to count, my a b c’s, basically I had to learn everything again. During that time I was confined to a wheel chair, I could walk a little bit but it was only with help or with a walker. I also had a bad anger problem and would fight all the nurses and doctors so they had to keep security posted outside my room 24/7. After all that I was out of the hospital by Christmas, and back working at my 9-5 by January 17th. My leg was still fucked up so I would get up every morning and TRY to run around my block until I felt like I was going to pass out. It was always snowing but whatever, I didn’t give a fuck I just wanted to use my legs. My Grandpop always said “use it or lose it”, and I knew that was the truth. I had to keep active or my leg would quit progressing. Another crazy thing about this accident is how I didn’t break any bones or have any other injuries. Doctors even said with the force of impact in the wreck you’d expect me to break SOMETHING. Not to mention, I was in a little white neon. Im not a small guy and they said when they found me I was lodged under the passenger side front seat. To this day I still can’t even see how that’s possible. It took until early 2013 for me to feel back to myself mentally.... I had to teach myself everything over again. I remember the first time I put shoes on when I got out of the hospital, I couldn’t even tie my shoes. I was thinking to myself ... “how the hell do you make a knot???” When I got back from the hospital, I came to the studio and was listenin to some of my all time favorite hip hop songs and realized I forgot all the words to them. I used to sit there struggling to remember classics I knew before the accident. Dear Mama, Nuthin But a G Thang, One Mic, Victory. I had to go back and absorb my entire music catalog, I had to teach myself to make beats again and how to rap. I had to remember how to write a cohesive song again, and what my style was, how to be me. It was like I had to rebuild myself from the ground up. Talking with my family and friends helped me realize I wasn’t who I was before the accident lyric wise. Gift would be like “I miss that old Myst”. I did too, and It took sometime for me to get that back. After all that, if it wasn’t for the accident I wouldn’t appreciate how delicate life is and how fast something can change. You have to love life, even when it’s hard and you’re goin’ through something because it will get better. Life is a rollercoaster and it takes you on a lot of ups and downs. Projects for the future? First I got my next solo album. I produced this one with the motivation of me falling and rising back up. Its about not letting anything hold you down or nobody hold you back, you have to take whats yours. I got that in the works, along with a BPDeuce mixtape with Gift and J. Picasso, my brothers. We have been putting tracks online constantly, everything for free. BPDeuce.com or Youtube.com/BPDEUCETV. I aim for 2 new songs a week to give to the public.

“I got next because I’m hungry.. Tired of living in the hood. I from here and love it, but when you have kids and want them to live better than you then they shouldn’t grow up in the same environment.”

FIRST KRUSH...

I’m from Springfield, Mass. Been to a few other cities in other states, but most my life was spent here, Springfield, Mass. My mom actually got me into Hip Hop back when I was a kid. The Mobb Deep, Big Pun, Biggie, Lil’ Kim, Tupac era. I loved it since. Songs that made me fall in love with the game were songs like changes, dear mama by PAC, all I got is you by Ghostface Killa, through the wire by kanye, and songs meaningful like those. Just remember listening to them and thinking man, I wanna get out the ghetto and do it big for my fam like these guys did. There are a lot of songs and artists that inspire that I didn’t mention, but you get where I’m coming from.

KRAZY STORY...

Man, I been through a lot of crazy shit. Home invasion, going hungry, literally no food to eat, being abused as a child, watching my family suffer and more. A bunch of negative things were going on in my life and I wanted different. I had no education or job so it was hard to make good progress, but when my son was born July, 2010. I had nothing to give him. I was a bum. I finally caught a break and got a

job a few months after. Ever since then I been doing way better.

PROJECTS...

I won’t be releasing any projects in 2013. I am currently working on my Mixtape called Unexpected Takeover, but am not sure when I am releasing it. Working on it so it can be A1. I have Big Pun’s son, Chris Rivers on a feature, a few local artist in my area and looking for more. In the meantime I’ll be dropping teasers and perform locally and jumping on other tracks.

TWEETS...

There’s no tweet that inspires me. Real life, real struggles, real people, things I’ve seen with my own eyes and felt inspire me. Good music is inspirational though. Like the songs I’ve mentioned earlier

GOT NEXT...

I got next because I’m hungry.. Tired of living in the hood. I from here and love it, but when you have kids and want them to live better than you then they shouldn’t grow up in the same environment. I want the best for my family. My dreams are to get out of the hood, own a house and not rent anymore. Put my kids in good schools. Give everyone what I didn’t get growing up. As far as being different I can tell you this much, I don’t exaggerate nor do I lie in my music. Different flow, different style, I’m me. & I got bars! Ha for real though. 63 63

“I talked to a editor of a big magazine and he told me that its no artist in Indiana just basketball. I’m here to prove him wrong” “Good guys do win from @dj dahi it is inspiration to me cause regardless where you come from, you can succeed at anything you do in life an I strive to be successful “ First hip hop crush... PROJECTS... I just dropped my second EP ‘BroIm from Muncie,Indiana. Its 45 minutes from Indianapolis. In the 80’s and 90’s we were called ‘lil chicago’. Growing up, the Dogg Pound was my first cd i bought (Dogg Food). But Jay z ‘dead presidents’ was the first song i fell in love with because i didnt know that was Jay z song... because i didnt catch his name on the video! it took me a few times to figure out who he was. I was in awe when i seen it.

Krazy story...

I played ball in high school. I was the only starting senior on the basketball team. We went to the state finals my senior year in which i tore my ACL earlier in the season. It tore me apart not being able to play in the finals. After high school, i got caught up in the streets and end up serving 8 and a half years for bank robbery. I perfected my craft while incarcerated. I dont glorify prison either its nothing fun about it, when you missing your family, friends, and loved ones.

64 64

ken Dreams’ its on Itunes,Amazon,Cd Baby, and Spotify. Im working on a mixtape which will be here this year. Just traveling trying to do shows and expand!

GOT NEXT?

I dont got next, I got now lol. But i feel that alot of artists dont bring lyrics to the game anymore. If u got a hot beat and a catchy hook you in the game. I feel i got hot beats and great lyrics, its all about getting people to listen to you, because if no one knows you there more than likely wont listen to you unless people are talking about you. I feel i got great lyrics, and im not bad on the eyes either I’m in my own lane. I just want to make a big impact in Indiana music and worldwide. I talked to a editor of a big magazine and he told me that its no artist in Indiana just basketball. I’m here to prove him wrong! Your First Hip Hop Krush? I come from a city where if you want to make something out of yourself, you have to really grind hard because nowadays, people will hate on you, laugh at you right in front of your face. So from there, thats when you prove them wrong because you grow up and do what you love to do, no matter what you are. Born in Richmond CA. The first time I felt in love with hip hop was when I started listening to “Say Whats Real” by Drake because in that song he separates himself from the rest of the rappers of his era and also he was talking about his love life, all his fame, and people being fake around him and that was something that was very relatable. I just feel like his music is legendary but the rest of the game is not real enough to see it.

Krazy Story? People come into my life and I instantly know right away that they were meant to be there, to serve some sort of purpose, to teach you a lesson, or to help you figure out who you are or who you want to become. I personally think you will never know who these people may be because they could be your neighbour, longlost friend, your roommate, lover, or even a complete stranger but when you lock eyes with them, you know at that moment that they will affect your life in some profound way. I had “Friends” that said they were always going to be there for me but in the long run they wasn’t, I noticed that because i’ve got jumped before and the only reason i got jumped, the people were hating on me and my music because i am what they wish

to be, i’ve also passed out before, thought about committing suicide, and didn’t have any type of support from anyone but my real fam, they support me as a man and they support my music. They been with me through thick and thin. My brother Jared, Angelo (SAVY), Elijah (SWAYZEE), Keen (BRAKEEN). Things happen to you that may seem unfair, horrible, and painful at first, but in reflection you find that without overcoming those obstacles you would have never realized your potential, strength, willpower, or heart. Your project for 2013? I got a mixtape on Datpiff right now, the name of it is “Where I Started” Also my team and I will be having more shows and start touring ASAP. 2 members from my music group will be releasing there mixtape SOON. My contege Angelo known as “Savy” will be having a new song, thats a hit and nobody even knows it yet. I have alot of things coming out for 2013. Trying to get my name ringing out there but not just me also my whole team S.B.E. “S.B.E” stands for Stories. Beyond.Earth. I figured we chose that name because each of our members are going through different struggles, such as relationships, just life in general and so and so.

Why are you the next hip hop fans krush? I feel like im good enough and deserve to be on top. My dreams are to be the BEST hip hop artist in the industry, start my clothing line which will be getting started on soon, its just a matter of time. My dream is to change people lives with the voice of my music, I want to inspire people to do better with there lives, i want to be that person that little kids admire. I’m different from the mass because i have a sound that no other has and I want to bring a new sound to the music industry because, in my opinion, everyone is all sounding the same and its only a few thats really doing it. Most people think you can just make it and become known off being a rapper and etc but they have to understand first that YOU have to promote your own shit and that you dont need these other people, you can be good but you have to be more than just good, you have to be good and hustle yourself because i learned you could be the dopest artist ever, if you dont hustle yourself no one will ever hear you. Inspiration tweet “Too many rappers, not enough artists” is a tweet from one of my favorite underground hip hop artist DIzzy Wright. That inspires me because theres alot of people “Rapping” these days, but there isn’t a lot of true artists who show their art through their music.

“The moment that changed my life was when my younger cousin Relly was murdered on Christmas. He was the first and main act on my label YA-YA! ENT.” FIRST KRUSH...

I was born in El Paso, Texas and raised in the state of Texas. I fell in love with hip hop when I heard O.P.P by Naughty By Nature. Treach has been one of the most underrated artists since the 90s. His delivery, flow and conceptual knowledge really influenced me to write songs completely. I have always been musically inclined since a young toddler. My mother sings in a band and grew up singing in church her whole life. While in her womb when she used to play music while cleaning I would react to it. Whether doing cart wheels or kicking, there was always a reaction.

STORY...

The moment that changed my life was when my younger cousin Relly was murdered on Christmas. He was the first and main act on my label YA-YA! ENT. I am the CEO. He was the focus of my vision even though I wrote rhymes and recorded. He was the one to take it to the top. When he passed I remember three days prior he said, “No matter what happens, you have the potential to take it to the top. People vibe with you and feel your rhymes; if they can relate and escape through your words, you will always be successful.” After his funeral his mother gave me his notebook and CD. I began to listen to how he felt as well as his craft so that way I can keep him alive and relevant. I’m glad I took the time to do that because it saved my life. I was thuggin in the streets thinking that I couldn’t be touched because I was surrounded by the goons and the hood. With his passing it showed me there is way out of that mentality, lifestyle, and environment.

2013...

My projects for 2013 are Hustle & Grind Vol. 2 and possibly Vol. 3. I have a tour in June “Get $ Stop Hating” Tour with Jess J. Jones and DBBS ENT. Working on an Indie film as well. Giving back to the community through my new non profit org. entitled Grind for You Org. Finishing up my Accounting program at the University of Texas at El Paso in December. Kids and teens its cool to go to school believe me....I’m living proof of that. Education is key and knowledge is power.

GOT NEXT...

I am hip hops next big krush because I can relate to people on all aspects and walks of life. I speak on real experience and let you know both sides to every story. Good or bad right or wrong because as artists, we don’t realize the power we have to influence our fans and peers. We need to change back to the message part of rap. Yea party anthems and club songs are necessary for some occasions but not all. My dream is to help out as many people to overcome their bad situations as possible. I didn’t have too many people encourage me to do right or help me get to the next step. So if I’m in the situation to do so I will. If I can help one person make a difference, it can domino effect to the person they helped and so on. This is a bar from a freestyle that I released a few years back that I love.

“I write to cater to a variety of audiences in different geographical locations. I strive to incorporate something for the street, the women, the grown, and the educated.” Your first hip hop krush...

My name is Bryan Bradwell better known by the stage name B-WELL. I am hip-hop artist and songwriter born and raised in Tallahassee, Florida. My first time falling in love with hip-hop started with hearing 2-PAC. My love for the hip-hop scene then transferred to the style and lyrics of Lil Wayne. One of my favorite songs by 2-PAC is “Picture Me Rollin”. One of my favorite songs by Lil Wayne is “Block is Hot”. As history tells it, B-WELL comes from a family of singers, musicians, and songwriters; therefore, my roots along make me the next generation artist in the present-day rap world.

Krazy story...

The reality of seeing my brother go in and out of prison made me come to my decision to become a man and an artist. I put the weight on myself to make a difference in his life as well as other family members. I see the struggle. Where I come from its rough and you either be somebody or be nobody. Therefore, I put it upon myself to take my brother out of the streets.

Your projects for 2013

My projects for the year 2013 includes working on multiple mixtapes titled “Popping Off” and “Stacking Paper”. The mixtape releases are scheduled to drop in the fall 2013. Other projects include artist collaborations ranging from the East Coast to the West Coast.

GOT NEXT...

Basically, my rap style will speak for itself. I write to cater to a variety of audiences in different geographical locations. I strive to incorporate something for the street, the women, the grown, and the educated. This is what makes me different from the masses. I’m not just a one dimensional artist, but yet I’m a versatile artist that can write to any beat and collaborate with any artist and make a hit. I label myself as a musical genius. I really don’t know where it came from but I consider myself a blessing. Besides my mind sees success because I’m making moves as a hip-hop artist and as a college student.

“I feel like I am the next thing to happen as I am spiritually called, musically devoted and it was written that I share my talent and story with the world.” While in Atlanta trying to survive, I turned to selling drugs. It was sell or starve. An opportunity to make some fast money came up and so I took it. The real turning point for me was being arrested, and having to do time for a burgulary charge. I was facing 5 years but by the grace of God, only served one. My mother’s voice speaking to me, saying “ You weren’t raised like this”, was like an echo through me and I vowed that once I was out, I would never return. On a whim, a chance and a prayer for a brighter day, I came out to Seattle after hearing of legit job opportunities and a fresh start. Still here, I am now established and working towards a better future.

PROJECTS...

“I am driven, focused and comitted to making my dreams come true.”

FIRST KRUSH...

Born in the city of New York on Valentines Day of ’84 and raised in Spanish Harlem, Dewitt Burke, aka D –Nice recants to me about his life and when he fell in love with hip hop. D-Nice: It was the summer of ’95. My mother bought me a boombox as a gift. She had warned me not to take it outside and was bent when she found out that I had. The song was “No One Else” by Total. I remember they were real street; wearing leather and stuff. I was walking through the East River Projects, with my boom box over my head. I had on windbreaker pants and a white tee. Real ’95. Once I got to the evelator, and I noticed other people rocking to it with me, I felt like the man.

MY STORY...

Raised in a single parent home with my younger brother Jarrel, my mother, grandmother and great grand father, who was more like a father figure to me, were my everything. In all I have gone through, they were and are, my rock and foundation. Though I had my grandfather, with no actual father around, the streets called. I became consumed in that lifestyle, up until the point in time a rival gang tracked me down. On 2 separate occasions, I was jumped and robbed, then pistol whipped. The guys who did it even went so far as to steal my phone and call my mother, saying I had been killed. Enough was enough. My mother told me I had to go, so off to South Carolina to stay with family I went. Long story short, blood isnt always thicker than water and my family out in Carolina did me completely wrong. It was then that I made my way to Atlanta, GA and my real struggle began. For three years, I was homeless. There was a shortage in the job market and between the streets and living in shelters, I did what I had to do… 68

In 2013, I have been working on starting drum lessons through a local church, as giving back to kids is a part of my dream. One day I hope to make ” Dewitt’s All Phase Music School” a reality to use it as a vehicle in moving toward the dream of giving back. Traveling the world playing gospel and r&b music is my ultimate dream and I believe Seattle is musically diverse place to further myself. Also, I have been working with other local talent, specifically Young Kid The Beginning and an upcoming, yet to be titled CD is in the works via our independent label Fresh Star Boys. I am driven, focused and comitted to making my dreams come true. I want to be a beacon to young people that the streets arent the answer and that with hard work and God on your side, anything is possible.

GOT NEXT...

I feel like I am the next thing to happen as I am spiritually called, musically devoted and it was written that I share my talent and story with the world. What I went through was not for no reason or purpose and I know that I have been called by a highers power to do the work I’m trying to accomplish. I was chosen and if anyone can go through what I went through and still come out on top, I feel it is a blessing and an inspiration to others to keep striving and fighting.

Raymondo supreme from cincinnati, ohio I fell in love with hiphop in the mid 90s. Me and my cousins listenned to Tupac, Bone Thugs, Biggie, Pun etc. We fell in love with the rap beef, lyrics and message.Years later, Jay Z, Nasty, No Limit inspired me to become a rapper. I really cant say which song single handedly made me fall in love with rap because im such a fan of so many songs but I definately fell in love wit rap from 95-00 and on, I still love it!

Krazy story...

My first meeting I ever had with Sony Records and we were not prepared at all. The manager and I had misunderstanding on a hotel and it never got booked. We drove from Cincy to NY and as soon as we got there it started snowing for 8 to 10 hrs straight so we slept in the car in the middle of a blizzard but I learn proper preparation is everything and you shouldn’t depend 100% on anyone because you rather make your own mistakes than having someone make mistakes for you so as I move forward we will always be prepared

Upcoming project...

A handful of hot single to follow up the “Can you hear me” single and more videos and I might release the mixtape at the end of the year. Being from Cincy, our rap market is very low and we barely get any shine. Over the years that has made me hungry and right now, im feeling like I have a variety of hits in my head. I’m not going to say I plan to be around for years and years but I will contribute to the history and future of rap. This is something I feel in my heart and soul and I got the drive im just ready to deliver to the people.

My name is Curtis Milner. My artist name is Bk. I was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. This is also the city I rep. The first time I fell in love with Hip Hop was when I listened to Cassidy’s “Imma Hustla”. When I first heard the song, I really liked the beat, not Cassidy’s verses too much. I was sitting in my living room with my cousins Ty And Donald bored waiting for our pizza to be delivered. My cousin Ty got his laptop and started playing instrumentals on Youtube. He played the Cassidy “Imma Hustla” instrumental and then my cousin Donald stared freestyling to it. I didn’t think his freestyle was Good so I wrote a little 4 bar verse to it. My cousin Ty liked it so he played the Clipse Grinding Instrumental And told me to write to that. Both Donald And Ty liked what I wrote. My cousin Ty said I should get into rapping. At first, I took it as a joke, But when I started getting other people to listen to my freestyle, They liked It, So I started getting serious about rapping.

As an artist, looking back on this experience inspired me to write a song about the streets. So I did. The song is called BK-This Life( Ft.Will-Flo &Nyce From BBM). SPACE SOLO

I am from a place called the rotten apple but y’all can call it New York City. I was born in Brooklyn but I moved around a lot when I was young. I spent most of my childhood in Harlem and the Bronx. I been around hip hop since I was young, because my mom would always play B.I.G, Mase, Busta Rhymes and Wu-Tang Clan but once I got older I started to understand it better so it wasn’t just music to me. The one song that really hit me and made me fall in love with hip hop was “The Real Slim Shady” by Eminem. Seeing the way he was clowning people but still showed his skills as a rapper was epic to me at the time and just opened a whole new world to me haha.

2013

The plan is to keep putting out good music and hit the people with as much visual as we can, just stay active and gain that strong fan base to back me up.

“Im all about trying to create new musical experiences. At the GOT NEXT... got next cause this is something I really want. end of the day I hope II can careless about fame, cars and clothes I just thats what the world want to make sure people hear my voice and see the picture I’m trying to paint for them. To be all remembers me for.” the way real with you, my dream is to gain the respect from my peers and other musician for the music I put out. I have all the faith in the world in what I do but to have that respect from others is something I really want. I think i’m different

from the mass because I don’t want to sound like anyone else, I want to put out different type of music. I always stress why does music have to have a genre, so what if it’s Rap, Pop, Hip-Hop or Rock. I just want to put out good sounding shit haha

Kid Cudi once tweeted “Im all about trying to create new musical experiences. KRUSH...

I come from New Zealand, and was brought up most my life in a little country village called Paengaroa. I was born in Tauranga Hospital 30 minute drive from my village. I first felt in love with Hip Hop, when I was 7 years old, one of my homies had a Snoop dog East side LBC Tape so we were bumping that at School and were the crowd that was always in trouble or in the principal’s office writing out lines while the other kids got to play on their lunch breaks.lol. I was then introduced to 2pac when I was 8 years old through my cousin, He had 2pac’s All Eyes on me C.D after that I was a full on Pac Fan. The lyrics message and talent 2pac had is amazing even today in 2013 I still Bump his Shit. The scene was on the porch/Stoop at my Crib just visioning being Big one day and Balling out. We would freestyle, smoke weed and drink, but I always took my Rap thing a bit more serious than the rest of my homies. The song was “All Eye’s On ME”... that joint is a classic.

STORY...

The most incredible story for me was avoiding prison time. Most of my homies have been to jail or are in and out of jail or still doing time today. I was going down the wrong path in life and a lot of my homies started doing “Crack” methamphetamine and doing robberies to supply their drug habits. I was just in it for the cash, I never fucked wit that

Crack shit. I was already D.I.C disqualified from driving twice for drinking and driving. Me and my homie stole a Car. It was a Subaru WRX turbo we were driving reckless, and I ended up crashing it. My homie broke his wrist and had a banged up knee, but we still manage to avoid the cops by running through the bush, I could literally see them through the trees. Later on I got a visit from the cops and had to appear in court, I was looking at 1 year minimum for the charges GBH, theft, and driving while disqualified twice. I changed my lawyer and got a 12,000 fine instead for the reparations cost of the damage to the car and 300 hours community work. Doing a year minimum at 17 years old would have destroyed my life I would probably still be in prison if that was the case, I got a second chance thank “GOD”, most people don’t, so I changed my life and started to take control and be a Man.

2013...

At the moment I got 1 joint “I GO HARD 4 MY SQUAD BABY” on the trap stars mix tape vol. 1 (dropped on 26/10/13). The other artist featured on the mixtape are Gucci Mane and Gorilla Zoe. I have been chosen to tour the States in December for 21 days on the unsigned 247 tour, which is DOPE! I also will be dropping my second mix tape B2W “Born 2 Win” before the tour starts to promote it while I’m on tour!

Being raised in Lawton, Oklahoma, I was exposed to many different genres of music. Black Sheep’s “The Choice is Yours” was the start of my HipHop journey. My brother and two others were at the studio doing a remake of the above stated song when one of the other guys was a no show. I tried to volunteer but didn’t catch a break until the producer gave me a chance to show my skills. That was the turning point in my life.

STORY...

I went to Florida on a whim, having just enough money to perform for a showcase. I didn’t have money for anything else except a place to sleep but I knew I had to get to the show to perform. After my brother and sister-in-law heard my music, they decided to invest in me and propel my career forward by opening Villain Records and dedicating so much to my career. Having that support has changed so much for me and I can finally focus on things in my future.

KRUSH...

Being born in Augusta, Georgia and from Milledgeville, Georgia (by way of Sparta, GA), I was always exposed to music, no matter what the genre may have been. We especially had hip hop because the radio stations at the time played hip hop during certain times, and they would play a wide mix of hip hop music from different areas of the country. The first time that I fell in love with hip hop was when I heard “The Formula” from the D.O.C. I loved the way he flipped his words, and how he really delivered the message that he had in that song. I also loved the confidence that he rhymed with in that song. It was phenomenal! My brother-in-law used to bring tapes to the house, and some of the first tapes that he bought by were from Sir Mix-A-Lot, and from the D.O.C. He would always beat box, and I at my young age, would most definitely try to freestyle while he was beat boxing. He also showed me how to use a boom box to record myself! Once I learned that, he would come over to my mom’s house and he would get the boom box, and then he would start beat boxing. I would freestyle my tail off, not making sense at all! It was so fun to do that, and the more I did it, the better I got. Age didn’t matter. It was nothing but a number when it came to my love for hip hop at that time. As my love for hip hop grew, so did my collection of hip hop, and my love of making tapes trying to perfect my rhymes. number when it came to my love for hip hop at that time. As my love for hip hop grew, so did my collection of hip hop, and my love of making tapes trying to perfect my rhymes.

STORY...

Now I’m telling my age with this one, but oh well! In 1998, I was in a group with a good 72

“Learning from my mistakes and trying to not make the same one again! Time to start from square one and climb the highest mountain there is” friend of mine down at Fort Valley State University. Our buzz was picking up on campus. We had done some talent shows, campus radio appearances, things of that nature. Well, during the fall of 1998, WFVS Power Jamz had a talent show, and the grand prize was opening for the featured artist at Homecoming. One of the featured artists was the Goodie Mob. They had just come off of some records with Outkast, and they were getting ready to release “Still Standing”, so they had a pretty strong catalogue going. The funny thing about that time was that Outkast was at Albany State University the exact same weekend that the Goodie Mob was at Fort Valley State. We were wishing we could be in two places at one time! We performed at that talent show that was done by the radio station, and we won! We ran out of the auditorium and went to celebrate! We practiced like beasts just to get ready for this show. We went through a situation a couple of weeks earlier because we were booed off stage at a talent show. That situation happening made me stronger and better because I was able to build from that adversity by changing up my style as an artist and being who I was intended to be. I have some major musical influences that have shown me that I can continue to be who I was intended to be as an artist and make the best music possible. As a man, it showed me that you can’t please everybody, and you have to go out and give 1000% no matter what you do. As long as you handled your business, then the rest would fall into place.

PROJECTS...

After years of hard work, and adversity, I was finally able to release my first album/EP entitled “The Xxodys Presents: Movement Muzyk”. That album is available on Cdbaby.com, iTunes, Amazon, etc. I have a track from that project that is also on Young Money Unsigned Hype

Volume 8, which was released on October 29, 2013. I am getting ready to release an EP by the start of 2014, and it will have two songs called “Pride of the Ville”, and “Sparta Daze”. “Pride of the Ville” will also be on some mix tapes as well. I felt like I needed to show that love back to my home town. I can always go home and get and give love at the same time. I want the world to know what Milledgeville, GA and Sparta, GA have given. After this project, then I will be focused on my next album “Warrior Psalms”.

GOT NEXT...

I got next because I have always been the underdog. I am a B+ player in an A+ game, and knowing that further fuels my hunger and passion for this hip hop. One of my main dreams/ goals is to be one of the catalysts that will bring a lot of people back to hip hop. I’ve noticed that many people have gotten out of listening to hip hop for various reasons. With that age doesn’t matter as well. I’m different from the mass because I make that everyman music. I always rhyme about life and different situations and scenarios in life. I speak for the people in the trenches. I speak for those that catch hell on their jobs, or catch hell with anything else, and need an outlet. I speak for those that are going through realistic situations with the economy or with anything else. I love this hip hop. I’m a wrestling fan, so I’ll conclude this answer with an analogy. Though I’m working toward the main event of hip hop, and that upper echelon, I know that with my message, I may not get there. I’m the one that’s working those proverbial bingo halls for 50 bucks a match because I love the game. I may or may not sell a million; it’s cool either way. I’m the one that’s more concerned with reaching and teaching those that want and need it. www.iamthexxodys.com

Tank: The first time I realized I loved hip-hop, I was 18 and on my way to a party through my hometown in Syracuse, NY. “We Be Steady Mobbin” by Lil Wayne featuring Gucci Mane was playing through the speakers of my souped up ‘96 Pontiac Grand Prix. From the moment I heard that song, I was thinking of verses and rhymes that could channel my energy and pain through lyrics from my past. I thought back to the times when I came from a broke family where my mom was dependent on drugs and tried to keep me away from my dad. Because we did not have very much money, she used the child support from my father to support her drug habit instead of us. Struggling in a house with addiction made me grow into the role of being a father to my siblings by the age of eight. The verses to the songs I started to write were so fluid and easy to come up, which just gave me inspiration to write even more. The pain and emotion being expelled in my lyrics reminded me of Lil Wayne and how when he raps, you can feel the passion in his words. Putting my feelings on paper brought out a new side of me that I never knew I had; I loved it. Mike- I come from Bernhards Bay, which is a small town outside of Syracuse. I fell in love with hip-hop at a young age. My good friend and I used to be babysat by this girl Brooke, who always had the newest rap songs or underground stuff on Cassette or CD. She had the biggest hip-hop collection I had ever seen, and we would be listening to music all day with whatever we did, and I would always be borrowing her cds. She died in a car crash when I was 13, and her parents gave her whole cd collection to us sayin “she would want you to have them.” That’s when I really got into hip-hop. Jared- My Mom gave birth to me while she was still in highschool and I was adopted by my aunt, I grew up in a small town called Constantia, which is surrounded by drugs and negativity and Hip-Hop was my only escape. I had a lot or run ins with many obstacles, but I wouldn’t change it for anything it made me who I am.

Krush...

Tank: From the start, I was always pretty confident in my writing. I found motivation while I was listening to other artists when I was sitting at the computer desk of my construction office trailer. I constantly thought of ways to use my own pain and experiences from my past to create my own story through music. I found writing as an escape from the troubles of living in a town that was holding me back from my full potential as well as people who I once considered friends using me for anything I had. I developed a passion through my writing and I had a growing ambition to continue to get better. Through strong lyrics and motivation, I started producing my own music (which is not recommended for people who don’t have any previous experience). The more I practiced my newfound talent, the better I became at both writing and rapping. The beauty of finding something that your passionate about is that you end up finding people that have similar interests. There were three of us who decided to bring our talent together and make a group. We lived together in a three-bedroom home partying, rapping and trying to live life to the fullest while we were young. Things took a turn for the worse when I got addicted to something I shouldn’t have, the group started falling apart and my future wife who was pregnant with my child at the time left me. I lost all of my friends and felt like I hit rock bottom. I realized I needed to stop, drop and roll and put out these fires so I could make changes to better myself. I rebuilt my relationships and we focused solely on our music, using the mistakes I had made to write more material. I was able to find my flow

www.reverbnation.com/thegameisgreene and use raw emotion through my lyrics and using my vocals as my instrument. After seeing what I had put the people that I cared about through during the hard times, it really humbled me and made me more ambitious to better myself.

GOT NEXT...

Mike- My dreams are to be traveling all over the world, performing and making music with this group and to meet new people. We are so different from the mainstream because we are ordinary people. We dont rap about money and are not stuck up. Each individual person in our group has his own flow and own style and the people we hang out with are so diverse in various musical backgrounds. We want to connect with listeners and we feel that we have what it takes, dedication wise and personality wise. We connect with a wider audience than the average artist.

PROJECT...

Jared- we are going to release at least 2 mixtapes, some music videos and put on as many shows as possible. We live for this. The sky’s the limit really, there’s a lot that can be accomplished in a year and we will definitely prove that. Our key Projects for 2013 are to finish our first mixtape “All About the Greene” and really start performing and getting our name out there!

There is no single tweet that inspired us as a group but there is one artist on twitter who has given us inspiration and that is Meek Mill. He is a real person and we share a lot of them same interests. He has really showed us you can make it in this game without it sucking the life right out of you. 73

KRUSH...

Im From Ironton OH, Southern tip of OH where people really dont know about at all. I’m not someone who grew up in the worst neighborhood or anything like that. I come from a good family but never was really fortunate. I had to make my way on top of my family trying their best to give me a good way to live. I’m from Ironton born & raised & lived here all my life with my whole family. First time i fell in love with Hip-Hop, I was 5 & grew up Listening to Bone Thugs N Harmony (Crossroads was my Favorite Song) but every song they made had an influence on me toward loving Hip-Hop & everything with me being such a big fan and supporter of real HipHop. Biggie & Pac also held a good influence & Nas, Run DMC, LL. Nowadays my favorite artists are T.I. & Ludacris... Just rocking out everyday when i got home, when it was early in the morning whenever i would be listening to everything Bone Thugs Crossroads, Days of Our Lives, Thuggish Ruggish, First Of The Month & Etc... First Of The Month or Crossroads its hard to choose because both of them I feel are both Serious!!!! to me when it comes to the feel of Hip-Hop

STORY...

This isnt fully a crazy story its just the story that made me tap deeper into becoming an artist even more. It was the final night i seen my grandma, i was at her house looking for beats & checking my sites for my feedback & on my way out after talking to her telling her how imma make it in music, imma take her to Paris, buy her a Mercedes, & get her even more rings for her hands...... 20 mins later i get the call she was going into Medical Shock & then we lost her & everyday it just makes me work hardest & strive more so i can follow through with what i told her. As an experience, it made me have more faith, but when it comes to me becoming a better artist, it made me work harder, think more & want more.

I don’t measure a man’s success by how high he climbs but how high he bounces when he hits bottom. It inspires me because i’ve fallen to the bottom with my music, lost my fans, my homies & friends... I had to bounce completely back start over from stratch just to make my name all over again while trying to chase the dream I wanted!

MELBOURNE...

The nightlife in Melbourne is very vibrant, like no other city I have experienced before. They have really grasped the Deep House and underground movement, and I’m proud to call Melbourne home now, having moved here from Dubai.

BUZZ...

The greatest experience I have had so far in my career is being a part of Miami Music Week (MMW) and the Winter Music Conference (WMC) The feeling of the festivals in Miami is like no other that I have experienced before. I also had an opportunity to be the opening act for Benny Benassi & Friends at the Ultra Music Party at LIV in Miami.

MEMORIES...

I have been a DJ in the middle east for a few years, and have had some very memorable experiences in Dubai with “Escape Project” by BK Rogers and friends at Sensation Night Club. Traffic Events “London” Proud Camden have been amazing for me personally and professionally. I have also been a part of “Blaq Velvet Underground” by Casa D’Costa & “Sharma Al Sheikh” at Pacha. All of these experiences have been major highlights in my career, and I can’t wait to see what is to come for me in Melbourne and throughout the world.

INTERNATIONAL...

When I began DJing in clubs in Dubai, I was recognized immediately as being a part of the House movement for the unique sounds that I offer. It happened very quickly for me. I really work hard to provide an experience and journey through music and connect with my fans and with the crowd. I had offers from clubs around the world, and of course jumped at the opportunity to work on an international scale. I have also connected with #ArtistsUnited, a worldwide community of DJs and independent Music Artists that reaches fans from around the globe. As part of the network, I’m planning further touring in 2014.

BEST THING...

I am a hard working man who strives for the best in all of my relationships, personally and professionally. One of my main career highlights was starting my own night, called “Escape Project” in Dubai. It has gained international recognition through Social Media, which is great... and it lead to building my brand further in the Melbourne music scene. I have teamed up with LAVISH on Friday nights to offer that experience to the best crowd. The exciting part is knowing that the BK Rogers brand is being established and gaining more recognition every day.

I am a Digital DJ, so I build, sample & layer my music live with NATIVE INSTRUMENT (MASCHINE) & (TRAKTOR)- BK ROGERS

FIRST KRUSH...

My name is TNT (Talented N Tireless) and I’m born and raised in upstate NY. I remember the first time I fell in love with Hip Hop was later than most fans. I was eighteen and out with a buddy of mine and we stopped at a record store and I bought three albums for no real reason (Pac, Nas, and Eminem). First couple songs that really hit home were Brenda’s Got a Baby and Lose Yourself for the visuals they presented. Later, a few others were Super Lyrical (Big Pun) and the whole Paid in Full Album of 1987 (Eric B and Rakim).

KRAZY STORY...

The most incredible thing that’s happened to me in my life was the situation I was in that caused me to turn to music and pick up the mic. I was a professional wrestler and ran my own gym. Some people were let on the inside who later thought they could do it better than us and ended up destroying a lot of things for a lot of people. There is no “dirty side” to that business because the whole business is just dirty. My wrestling career came to an end and it was out of my control, but I knew that to ever find peace again I would have to find something that I loved just as much as wrestling and that’s when I found music. Music saved my life. It brought me happiness, peace, work ethic, respect, and dignity. It’s my everything.

PROJECT...

My projects for 2013 are going well. I’m currently signed to Sum Serious Music LLC for TV/film distribution, and got one of our new singles to be released soon under Hilltop Records (LA). I also have a developmental deal through an A&R rep in LA, and I’m about to sign with Tate Music Group for more distribution, marketing, and promoting coming very soon.

GOT NEXT...

I might not be the next big thing because it’s not in my hands, but I love what I do and that’s what’s most important. We all have a destiny and my dream is to bring knowledge to the world and share my message as well as open the world’s eyes. If I’m able to make a living on the way, that’s a bonus. I feel I’m different because I’m willing to put in the work that most other artists are not even without benefiting immediately. I grind all day and it’s my work ethic and heart that separates me from the rest.

An inspirational tweet/quote I’ve read was by Coach Vince Lombardi actually. It said “The only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary.” It’s obvious why this is so true. FIRST KRUSH...

Born October 28 1985 in Bakersfield California, new up and coming hip hop artist Bee Locke looks to plant his flag in the West Coast music scene.Music has always been a part of my life. my mom was dating a local basketball star in the mid 80’s when hip hop was really starting to pick up and I loved the music I was hearing at them late night parties. Haha. As a kid, I loved to dance, even though I couldn’t understand the language of hip hop at the time, I knew I could dance to it. Growing up I wasn’t the toughest of kid on the block and male role models were scarce so music became a big brother. LL Cool Js “Mama said knock you out” embodied all the emotions I had as a bullied student. watching that video and seeing his aggression and confidence was a substitution for the male influence I was lacking in

mine and I’m sure many other kids lives. that song became my “eye of the tiger” anthem, and being a mama’s boy the title of the song couldn’t get any better.

KRAZY STORY...

I’ve been in the music industry about 3 years now, and so far it’s been quite a ride. When I decided music was what I wanted to do, Glenn Chesbrough, a high school friend reached out to me. He’d been in bands for as long as I knew him and we were both looking for a change in our lives. Being from the same city, all we wanted to do is prove that some boys from Bakersfield could.make some noise. He was on the board I was on the mic. He was the first person who really believed in my musical talent, doing music brought us closer together

“Dignity does not consist of possessing honors but deserving them”-Aristotle & after a short while, he felt I was ready to start doing shows. we wanted to make moves legit, and since nobody knew who we were we had to do it on our own. One weekend, he called me up to set up arrangements to talk business with some people he met. Everything sounded good so I was with it. That next day when we were supposed to meet up, I get a call from a mutual friend saying that he had passed from overdose on pain pills. Complete disbelief was running through my brain cause I had just talked to him hours before. After hearing that news, I wanted to give up music, I had no one else who believed in me like he did but a shirt I found quickly removed that thought. the shirt I found read “never give up” it was Glenns. Taking that as a sign, I kept pushing, and since then I’ve auditioned for X Factor and opened up for Mac Dre’s birthday celebration. my friends untimely death taught me that life is short so appreciate everybody and everyday you have in your life.. As an artist, I’ve learned that goals aren’t unattainable just keep going and believe in YOURSELF.. RIP GLENN CHESBROUGH.

My music is for the average Joe or Jane who had it bad but not quite as bad as others but still want more outta life.. and I’m living out my dream now ,getting bills paid and doing music. I just want to be acknowledge by my seniors and peers that I’m a Tru hip-hop EMCEE...
