UNITED BASKETBALL CLUB MOTION OFFENSE PLAYBOOK

The lead bring the ball up and initiates the offense. The lead guard does the following:
1.Pass the ball to the guard on the left wing.
2.Set your defender up for pick and cut through the middle - if you receive the ball back on the cut, shoot the floater, short jump shot, or continue to the rim and lay the ball up strong at the hoop.
3.If you do not receive the ball on the cut, continue through the lane, you must actively look and engage to help if needed.
4.Replace the guard on the right-hand side of the offense once you clear through the lane.
5.If you receive the ball and have a wide-open three or 2 point jump shot off the dribble, engage and take the shot.
The left-side shooting guard receives the pass from the lead guard. The left-side shooting guard is responsible for initiating the scoring threat on the ball side of the offense. The left-side shooting guard does the following:
1.He receives the ball and reads his defender - if his defender is playing far back off of him, he is to take a good three-point shot.
2.If the defender plays him closely, he will use the pic from the small forward to gain an advantage - if the defender is behind him, he is to continue to the basket and shoot a floater, short jump shot, or layup.
3.If his teammate's defender pulls to him, he will pass the ball to the small forward, who is cutting to the basket for a layup, floater, and short jump shot around the rim.
4.If the play is not available, he will pass the ball back to the guard in the lead position at the top of the key to initiate the offense all over again.
The right-side shooting guard is responsible for replacing the lead guard, making the entry pass to forward if available, getting back on defense, and stopping the ball when the opposing team gets the rebound. The right-side shooting guard does the following:
1.The right-side shooting guard fakes and cuts to the middle of the court at the top of the key to replace the lead guard.
2.If the shooting guard receives the pass back from the left-side shooting guard, restart the offense by either passing the ball to either side of the floor to reinitiate the offense, or he can either shoot a three-point shot if open, pass to the forward in the middle at the free-throw line.
3.If he initiates the offense, he follows the same steps as the lead guard.
4. The right-side shooting guard should not drive into the paint from the top of the key because they are responsible for stopping the ball on defense.
The left-side small forward set the pick for the left-side shooting guard. The left-side small forward is responsible for helping initiate and becoming the scoring threat on the ball side of the offense. The left-side small forward does the following:
1.He flashes and sets a pick for the left-side shooting guard on the right side of the defender.
2.Once he sets the pick, you will flash to the basket to receive a pass if open from the shooting guard for a layup at the rim or a short jump shot - if you receive the pass and you are not open, kick the ball back to the left-side shooting guard, the guard at the top of the key or guard on the right wing for an open three-point shot.
3.If you need to clear out with the dribble once you find an open man, push it out to reload the offense.
4.You are responsible for rebounding in the paint for put-backs or kick-outs to reset the offense.
5.You are required to get back on transition defense as well.

3. If the drive is not there, he can kick the ball to the guard to the right of him for a shot or ball reversal for a better shot on the other side of the floor.
4. You are responsible for rebounding in the paint for put-backs or kick-outs to reset the offense.
