YCW put themselves in a position with a different lineup from the first quarter to review and work on combinationsasthefinalsseriesquicklyapproaches.

Emma Barfuss and Ash Whitnell in goals displayed the experienced and talented list this club has. The Bombers uitilised rolling substitutions and mad a number of changes throughout the first half in an attempt to stay with the Stonecats as YCW started the second half with a 12-goal advantage. Sam Silvester entered the game at GS and quickly made an impact for her side as the focal point for the midcourt players. The Stonecats continued to be seamless in their transition from one end to the other, along with great collaboration from all on court.TheBombersstruggledtofindanycontroland consistency in this match and will be disappointed with the 28-goal deficit. While being competitive most of the season and adding 6 wins to date, this black and red outfit know they have plenty more to work on to be competitive against the best in this Division.

The Bombers will welcome the week off to then face another high ranked team in Sorrento, and YCW will hostDromana.

Mt Eliza and Red Hill have a current position in the top 5 to date with only percentage separating the two sides, but every match will be important to win with just one third of the home and away season remaining.

Mt Eliza took the 4 goal win last time they met, so withanotherclosematchinstallanyadvantageina quarterwouldbepivotal.

A very close and competitive first quarter, Red Hill hada2-goalleadheadingintothesecond.Achange the Redlegs have made constantly most of the season,KateyRudolphmovedfromdefencetogoals, assisting her side to take a 1 goal lead at the main break.RedHill’sdefensivepressureprovedtobetheir biggest asset with Isabella Brown and Liz Walsh playingagreatgamedrivingtheballintotheattack end. Mt Eliza were getting turnovers in defence, however couldn't convert the much needed goals. The third quarter was all to the way of the visitors, outscoringMtElizaandleadingby7goalswithjust15 minutesofplayremaining.Thehostsdidn’tconcede, fighting to the end and winning the last quarter, but the lead Red Hill had at three quarter time was enoughtotakea4goalwinatthefinalwhistle.

A great win for the Hills which will give the players plenty of confidence going into their next game against Bonbeach, and Mt Eliza will head to Olympic ParkagainstRosebud.

PINES(36)vSORRENTO(69)

Still searching for their first win of the season, Pines hostedSorrentoinanothertoughbattle. Sorrento had a number of debutants this week in JosieJamieson,SophieCadeandLaurieMeaker,who seamlessly fitting into the experienced A Grade side. The Sharks started the first quarter strong, pushing the intensity into the second quarter with a 21-goal lead at half time. The Pythons made a number of positional changes across the board heading into the second half, in an attempt to find combinations that were competitive to reduce the existing margin. Sorrento’s Talia Anderson was on fire in defence, whilst Alana De Wolde capitalised down the attack end on all turnovers. The Sharks finished the match with a 33-goal win. Another solid performance by all 10playerswhotookthecourt.

It won’t get any easier for Pines as the will head to Lloyd Park against Langwarrin after the break, and SorrentowillhosttheBombers.
