^ The word tropaia is the plural of the ancient Greek word ������ �� which refers to a monument celebrating a military victory. Usually these were constructed of wood, though sometimes of bronze, and they were often decorated with captured weaponry.

The word in the context of today’s celebration means “trophies” or “awards.”
