Junior Sinfonia

This ensemble is for string and woodwind (flute, oboe, clarinet and bassoon) musicians with some previous ensemble experience, strong reading skills and enthusiasm for creating music with others. Emphasis will be placed on development and refinement of leadership and ensemble skills. Standard chamber orchestra repertoire will be introduced alongside modern-day composers. Woodwind players new to the orchestral experience are welcome to audition. Ages 10 – 16

Mount Royal Chamber Flutes is open to anyone with a desire to become a better flute player and musician, while having fun in the process. Introduction to Chamber Flutes

Pre-Chamber Strings A and B

Members in this string orchestra benefit from further ensemble skills in preparation for the Chamber or Junior Strings. Most players have one year of experience in the Preparatory Strings or its equivalent. Ensemble A, Ages 7+

Preparatory Strings

This is the entry-level ensemble for strings. Members must be at least seven years old and have two years playing experience (minimum RCM Grade I/end of Suzuki Book I). No maximum age is set. The orchestra concentrates on basic orchestral skills, listening, ensemble playing, etc. Members should be able to play in the keys of D, G, A and C. Ages 7+

Senior Guitar Ensemble (Classical Guitar)

This ensemble is for adults and teens who want to be challenged by a more advanced guitar ensemble repertoire. A minimum RCM Grade 4 level is required and previous ensemble experience is recommended. Ages 15+
