Welcome to My Mountain Development. The start of your great development adventure!
As a growing business we recognise the importance of our colleagues growing their skills and careers with us. As you journey through your career at Mountain Warehouse, it is important to take time to learn, push yourself out of your comfort zone, and place yourself into different experiences to develop.
As a brand we want to invest in highly skilled and engaged colleagues providing everyone with opportunities to learn and grow. This fuels the goal of supporting everyone to enjoy the great outdoors.

This magazine will explain your development opportunities and aims to signpost what is available to you as a colleague and at what career stage. It also provides insight into what type of development is on offer. Whether this be through our iAM portal, or our apprenticeships; we have you covered!
We ensure our offer is flexible to your needs and relates to the business skills driven from our Achievement Book, and Mountain Talk processes. Giving greater purpose to the development on offer.
We always advise colleagues all development conversations should take place with your Line Manager ensuring your development is endorsed, followed up and connected to your career goals.

Venturing into a management role is an amazing career achievement that comes with increased responsibility. Making it essential for all line managers to keep topping up skills and refreshing techniques on how to best manage their teams.
Our Mountain Warehouse Management Essentials is aimed at supporting all new line managers on their leadership adventure. This workshop is mandatory for all new line managers joining the business, and available for other line managers to refresh their knowledge on how to lead the Mountain Warehouse way.
You will come away from the workshop understanding our brand policies that support you leading your teams.

Q: How do we manage time away from our current workload for all colleague sessions?
A: Please confirm with your line manager before signing up to any sessions. You will then be given sufficient time to attend.
Q:Am I expected to attend outside my working hours?
A: No, you will only be required to attend in your working hours.
Q: Are Line Managers allowed to attend ‘all Colleague sessions?
A: Whilst the skill level for all colleague sessions differ from the skill level for the line manager sessions, line managers are still able to book onto all colleague sessions.
Q: How do I sign up?
A: There are links and QR codes provided on the relevant programme offer throughout this booklet, which will take you to the sign-up pages for these sessions.
FAQ’s
Q: I want to attend a session but none of the available dates work for me. Will there be further dates?
A:There will be additional dates added continuously. Promoted through internal comms and via Senior Leadership team. Please feel free to contact L&D for further information regarding dates, or any bespoke training needs.
Q: Apprenticeships are not mentioned but do we have them available?
A: We do have apprenticeship programmes available that are promoted via leadership conversations and linked to specific career goals. If you are interested in an apprenticeship, we may have a course available to you.
