In overall hospital rankings, Mon Health Medical Center was ranked No. 3. Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) was ranked No. 1. “At Mon Health we know you can feel the difference in the quality of our care at our hospitals compared to other choices,” said David Goldberg, President and CEO. “Our team of physicians and staff are warm, embracing. They are the neighbors you grew up with and they provide the highest level of caring to our patients and their families.” “In addition, it is telling when community hospitals like Mon Health Medical Center and CAMC lead the list of best hospitals in West Virginia. Community hospitals represent the kind of quality in service and care that is sometimes not found in larger institutions and that provides a solid choice for patients considering where to get their care.” Mon Health Medical Center was also recognized as “High Performing” in 4 adult medical procedures or conditions: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart failure, aortic valve surgery, and lung cancer surgery. For the 2019-20 rankings and ratings, U.S. News evaluated more than 4,500 medical centers nationwide in 25 specialties, procedures and conditions. The annual Best Hospitals rankings and ratings, now in its 30th year, is designed to assist patients and their doctors in making informed decisions about where to receive care for challenging health conditions or for common elective procedures. The rankings are based independent evaluations of several key measures, including nurse staffing and patient safety.
