IDHS - HOME OF THE KNIGHTS!
From The Principal . . . Irondale High School Families, It is with great excitement that we bring back our electronic newsletter, Knightly News, highlighting the accomplishments of our students and staff here at Irondale. This month we share with you our winter edition, showcasing events and accomplishments of our students through their academics, athletics, activities, and clubs. It’s hard to believe we are kicking off the second semester, as our seniors are realizing they are in the final stretches of high school.

Winter sports are in full swing, as Irondale is buzzing each day with practices and competitions. The goal of our teams to make sure students are having a positive experience, represent Irondale in a positive way, and continue to make academic progress as they balance academics and athletics. We are all extremely proud of our student athletes! Activities and student clubs continue to create positive culture at Irondale. They also provide unique experiences for all students to engage in events, such as our Student Council hosted a food packing event in partnership with Harvest Pack and the New Brighton/Mounds View Rotary Club. Student Council is also responsible for hosting winter spirit week, which builds community and positive culture with staff and students. Robotics is unveiling their new robot on February 22nd and our drumline and colorguard teams will compete in our annual Winter Music of the Knight in February as well. As you can see, there are many ways our students are involved and build positive culture here at Irondale. It is also hard to believe we are preparing for next year with registration upon us. Students are busy meeting with their deans, connecting with teachers about classes to consider, and of course, talking with friends to hear of their experiences. We are very excited that our first group of students completed our new Welding class and students nearly completed the solar panel ice fishing house in our new Construction and Solar course! There is quite a buzz within our community and with our community partners. We look forward to a few upcoming dates, such as our ACT Exam on April 2nd. There will be more information to come. Please also mark your calendars for our Communication Night to connect with teachers on April 18th. Thank you to all of our families that continue to provide support for our students. Please reach out, as we appreciate your partnership together to support student success. I hope you enjoy the Knightly News! Amy Janecek Principal
