ABOUT US - EVENT MANAGEMENT

The team at ACE have successfully managed the Targa Florio Australian Tribute Event since 2018 and grown this Event to include strong partner affiliations with Tourism operators and event partners like the Australian Grand Prix.

Founded by Linda, Andrew and Paul Lawson, Australian Classic Events is operated by a team of lovers of iconic Italian marques and who have enjoyed some of the most iconic motor events in Italy and the UK and wanted to share

The team at Motor Passion are experienced automotive content marketers.

They are the team behind The Shannons Club having worked with the motor enthusiast insurance brand for over the past decade – winning numerous local and global marketing Awards for content and event effectiveness within theAutomotive category.

The Motor Passion team is headed by Rohan Robertson who has over 30 years in Automotive media and marketing - starting out on the Ford Media team before launching branded V8 Supercar teams and Bathurst entries and is one of Australia’s most experienced content producers – delivering the Australian new car TV series for the Nine and Ten Network as well as the iconic industry documentaries End of An Era and Design to Driveway, as well as creating content for many OEM Manufacturer and automotive and

THE TARGA CLASSICA

The Targa Classica event is fully subscribed for 2023 and attracts owners of the most admirable and loved cars. It firmly celebrates a strong historical connection with the original Sicily event, with strong local and Italian media coverage.

With a growing support base of passionate motoring enthusiasts, our Course Sectors follow some great driving roads, where competitors can unleash their passion, plus take in the sights of our main regional tourist destinations.

Central of course, is to enjoy good food and wine unique to each of the regions and feel part of an event that is built on over 100 years of European driving history, whilst establishing long-lasting friendships along the way.

Targa Classica provides car enthusiasts seeking the perfect motoring experience with a 4-day festival that excites and delights all the senses.

The 4-day competition draws inspiration from the classic regularity events of Italy and brings the style, culture and spectacle to Australia with a uniquely local flavour…….La Dolce Vita!

Victoria’s great driving roads provide the pathway to adventure, where competitors can unleash their passion, take in the sights of our Victorian regional tourist destinations, enjoy good food and wine unique to each of the regions and feel part of an event that is built on over 100 years of European classic driving history

There is something for everyone to enjoy, with 2 categories open for drivers to compete in Competition Stages which follow a European format that allows an enjoyment of cars with precision rather than speed.

The skills of drivers and navigators are tested as they drive to set average speeds and meet exact times over set stages.

Targa Classica Australia is inspired by the world’s oldest motor race – the Targa Florio and founded in 1906 as endurance automobile race held in the mountains of Sicily near the island's capital of Palermo.

The Targa Florio remains the oldest sports car racing event in the world.

Targa Classica pays tribute to our Italian motor heritage and brings fellow motor enthusiasts together with great food, wine and accommodation and some of the best driving roads and scenery in Australia.

Each Sector follows a European Time-trial format that allows an enjoyment of cars with precision rather than speed as cars depart every 15 seconds.

The skills of drivers and navigators are tested as they drive to set average speeds and meet exact times.
