What is Required?

Minimum Computer Requirements • Windows or IBM compatible computer must be able to run Internet Explorer 8, Firefox 3.6 or Chrome. • Apple Macintosh computer must be able to run Safari 4.0, Firefox 3.6 or Chrome. • High speed Internet access. • 16 bit color video display card. • Hard drive disk space. (This is for downloading articles and installing required plug-in software.) • 24x CD-ROM drive (Some classes may provide supplemental materials via CD.) • Sound card and speakers.

How to Get Started

1. Apply for admission to Missouri State • If nondegree-seeking, complete a course enrollment form at: Outreach.MissouriState.edu/ courseenrollmentform.htm • If degree-seeking, apply at: MissouriState.edu/apply and pay applicable fees. 2. Submit any necessary transcripts. 3. Submit application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) if applying for financial aid. See Fafsa.ed.gov. 4. Set up your BearPass ID & Password. Upon acceptance to the University, you will receive your student id (BearPass) number. Use this number and access my.missouristate.edu to set up your accounts for Blackboard, email, and your personal my.missouristate portal. If you are a local online student and wish to have a BearPass card, please call or visit the BearPass Card Office. See MissouriState.edu/bearpasscard. 5. Seek advisement. • If you are an adult, undecided degree-seeking or non-degree seeking student, contact Adult Student Services at (417) 836-6929 or toll-free (877) 678-2005. • If you are a degree-seeking student with a declared major, contact your academic department for advisement. 6. Register for classes through my.missouristate.edu. 7. Order your textbooks from the University bookstore through my.missouristate.edu. 8. Purchase a parking permit. If you are a local online student visiting campus regularly go through my.missouristate.edu to purchase your permit.
