LIVING SPACE BAHRAIN

An airy and comfy living space designed for house gatherings, natural wood is abundant in the scene and along with the external landscaping, makes for a very natural and comfy atmosphere.

GREEN YOUR COMMUNITY

SANABIS, BAHRAIN

This entry for the UN Habitat “Green Your Community” design competition is a testimony for the importance of nature and human-spaces in our living environments. This apartment neighborhood has been transformed into a livable and walkable place by introducing nature and places for people; places to walk, stay and play.

MALL SKYLIGHT

RESIDENTIAL VILLA

The fruit of a week’s work learning Lumion software. This exterior and interior visualization project features a simple and elegant design to represent a modern feel for this residential villa.

RECLAIMING LOST SPACE

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA

Space is the defining factor in this project, where a portion of space in the urban setting of Kuala Lumpur has been unrightfully occupied by roads. Pedestrians here are plenty, yet walk uninvited in the space dominated by vehicles. The project aimed to reclaim the space by reducing the footprint of vehicular roads and adding building mass to bring the space back to human scale.

URBAN REGENERATION

MELAKA, MALAYSIA

Melaka River (Sungai Melaka) is a precious element in the heritage Malaysian city Melaka, we aimed to unlock the river’s potential in the urban setting and reconnect the public to it. The river is to be utilized as a public transportation route with stops at significant locations, these stops would act as portals from the river to the heritage city. One of the most significant spaces in Melaka, the Dutch Square (right), has been reconnected to the river by providing an unobstructed visual access from a new deck (above) that would act as a portal to the square. The clock tower in the square would be further emphasized as one of the most important landmarks in the city. This view was unrealized as it was obstructed by a tourist information building (further right), rendering this prized posession of the people of Malaysia under appreciated.

SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE

SAKHIR, BAHRAIN

Architects are artists, and therefore curious playful beings. The existing University of Bahrain campus in Isa Town had a

handful of things to offer, but much else was lacking. The aim of this project was to create that perfect habitat for

architecture students where every building and space between set the bar for the university experience as it should

space should be.

GRAND PLAZA

MUHARRAQ, BAHRAIN

This site used to be a pubic park and is up for renovation. The direction was to create a public plaza with amenities such as a library, gallery, amphitheater, cafes, and a food court. The core idea of this project was to create a number of spaces of varied character, as the area was enough to accommodate more than just a central plaza. The most important aspect in this project was scale, as it has proven easy to lose track of human scale while looking at the plan on paper. Spaces ranged from cozy paths lined with decidous trees, to picturesque cafes by a water feature, to a grand space flanked by a unique public library and gallery. Much was to be offered in this precious site than a mere picnic park.
