HALL OF FAME READY FOR 34TH PRICE CUTTER CHARITY CHAMPIONSHIP PRESENTED BY DR PEPPER
Korn Ferry Tour event scheduled for July 20-23 at Highland Springs Country Club
Later this month the eyes of the golfing world will be on Springfield as the Korn Ferry Tour returns for the 34th annual Price Cu er Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper at Highland Springs Country Club.
And for the 29th year, the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame will administer the event, which has become one of the top charity golf tournaments in the country.
More than 50 Ozarks chari es will benefit from this summer’s Price Cu er Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper, one of 26 stops on the Korn Ferry Tour. And businesses and individuals who want to throw their support behind the tournament s ll have a number of ways to do so.
“We hope businesses and individuals will rally around our chari es, as they do incredible work in our community,” Tournament Execu ve Director Byron Shive said. “We don’t realize the me and effort they spend to help so many developmentally disabled kids or low-income families have a be er life. That’s why sponsorships large and small could make a huge difference to help the chari es meet their important missions.”
Efforts to secure sponsorships are s ll under way, with the tournament’s numerous events set for July 10-23 in the Springfield area. The pros play July 20-23 at Highland Springs Country Club, with a purse of $1 million.
The tournament has gi ed more than $19.4 million since its incep on in 1990, and a year ago it distributed a record $1.095 million.
Call 417-887-3400 to be a part of this year’s tournament. This year marks the 24th with Price Cu er Supermarkets as a presen ng or tle sponsor. It’s Year 20 for Dr Pepper. The tournament has gi ed 93.3 percent of its total – or $18,184,170 – since Price Cu er joined the tournament.
“I have always said this is more than a golf tournament,” said Rob Marsh, Chief Operating Officer for Pyramid Foods, Inc., the parent company of Price Cu er Supermarkets. “Shop local is our mo o, and we try to prac ce what we preach.”
