Kim Hyldahl, Founder & Creative Director
MOS MOSH is the home of two brands, MOS MOSH and MOS MOSH Gallery. A universe of timeless wardrobe pieces with extraordinary details for women and men.
The MOS MOSH brand was born in 2010 and founded by Kim Hyldahl. Like a phoenix rising from the ashes, MOS MOSH marked a new beginning for the founder. The first drawings were created from the kitchen counter of his home, and a small collection of jeans and pants came to life step by step. The signature was clear; well-fitted garments, high quality, and most importantly, designed with a twist in mind.
From the very beginning, MOS MOSH aimed to reach an international wingspan while staying true to our DNA and principles. Furthermore, the vision was to design products in timeless silhouettes of high quality - made with passion, love, and heart. We are a small but focused organisation, and we value the relationship between the people involved. We are built upon a strong culture and fundamental values where responsibility and fairness are the cornerstones of our company. Our DNA became an even more important foundation as we began advancing into full-range collections. Women worldwide have embraced the look and the fit of MOS MOSH jeans, and the brand has established itself as a keeper of today’s fashion as luxury jeans and tailoring wear.
The design, fit, and little twist make MOS MOSH unique. It goes for jeans. It goes for people, and it goes for our entire organisation. We keep our feet steadily planted on the ground. Remembering who we are and where we came from makes us very humble. We are a fast-growing organisation with busy schedules, and we know the importance of constantly having to innovate ourselves. Hard work and the element of surprise are one of our strongest qualities. We deliver more than people expect.
MOS MOSH Gallery
In 2020, it was time to write a new chapter of the MOS MOSH history and welcome a little brother to the family. A men’s line, MOS MOSH Gallery, was born. A high-end fashion brand designed for the modern man who wears himself with confidence and the philosophy of producing timeless garments made to last – and easy to understand.
The inspiration comes from the simple Nordic look combined with sharp Italian finesse. The collections are cut from top-shelf qualities with that little twist and nature in mind, never compromising the fit. The collections are casual and formal, designed with versatile garments that are easy to style up or down depending on the occasion. We showcase a simple wardrobe with multiple styling options focusing on craftsmanship.
No matter how fast the MOS MOSH train runs, we stay true to our DNA and humble principles.
Our MOS MOSH houses
The MOS MOSH family is growing, and we are now more people than ever. Therefore, we are today to be found in three various houses in Kolding. Still, we have a strong feeling of togetherness as all three houses work closely together, and every Friday, we eat breakfast together. Collaboration across our houses and social gatherings is something we value highly.
Ejlersvej
On Ejlersvej, you will find the following MOS MOSH teams: Finance, IT, Marketing, E-Commerce, Sales, Claim, and our CEO. This house has been a part of the MOS MOSH journey since 2013 and is known for its remarkable architecture. It’s an old half-timbered house with a view of Koldinghus – a castle that’s more than 750 years old.
Fredericiagade
In 2019 we expanded into two houses, and our Design team, Production Controllers, Buying department, and CSR Responsible moved to the new location only a few meters away. Kim Hyldahl was a part of the creative process of renovating the house on Frederiagade, and he managed to give the new house our MOS MOSH DNA through the interior, colours, and small details.
Fynsvej
Hard work and the element of surprise are some of our strongest qualities. Therefore, it was a strategic decision for our menswear brand Gallery to move into their own headquarter in 2023.This new space also gave Gallery and MOS MOSH the possibility to expand with a showroom where customers can meet and explore our DNA in the heart of Kolding.
We are a small and focused organization. We value the relationship between the people involved as MOS MOSH is all about togetherness.
David Skjødt, CEO
A letter from our CEO
MOS MOSH is a fashion brand built upon a strong culture and fundamental values – we always care about each other and the world we live in. Our culture, passion, and dedication make us unique. From the beginning, the vision was to design innovative styles with a long lifespan and a clear product signature - always with attention to detail. We design timeless styles, and our DNA is clear in each piece. We aim high and focus on delivering more than expected in every possible way. We aim to do things better than we did yesterday, and our products are always of high quality but, at the same time, affordable. We never compromise, and fairness, decency, respect, and responsibility are essential for our company.
We live in a new and changing world that is shifting more rapidly than ever. This means we must adapt to changes every day and develop our amazing company to a new level. MOS MOSH has a fantastic organisation with a high spirit that always has creative thoughts. All employees are dedicated to their work and the brand. We have a flat and informal organisation, and we all want to develop and move forward while still remembering our roots. We have created a culture encouraging creativity and giving ideas space to grow. We celebrate our successes without taking anything for granted. When we make decisions, we analyse them thoroughly and follow our hearts. All employees at MOS MOSH are proper, have the right passion, and are team players – that’s our key to success. We don’t expect our employees to be perfect, but we expect them to do their best every day and keep a positive mindset.
Today, we are widely known throughout the fashion scene. This is due to doing things right with the right people. Having a clear focus and never doing things just because it’s the easiest. If it’s outside our DNA, we never go there. We are staying true to our DNA and our core principles. When we enter a new market, we succeed because of our strong products, affordable prices, and the right focus on distribution. The match between our values and the people we hire is crucial for our success. We strive to be relevant and inspire people. We balance fashion with commercial products and develop stunning designs that are profitable for our customers every season. MOS MOSH is not a brand you will find on every city corner. It’s a brand you will find in selected boutiques. We have an extraordinary partnership with our customers, where loyalty and long collaborations are key and something we truly value. It has always been essential to do things our way and not just go with the flow.
By being part of the fashion industry, we have a responsibility towards the planet we pass on to our children and grandchildren. I am very proud of where MOS MOSH is today, what we have achieved so far, and the responsible journey we are on. We have built a strong international brand with customers worldwide. Although our growth has been impressive, growth has never been our first and only priority, as branding and our products are always the most important. At the same time, we behave respectfully towards each other, our suppliers, and our customers. Being kind and treating people with respect are some of the core values that I, as a person, care about the most. Furthermore, it has to be profitable for our suppliers and customers – and always with a sustainable mindset.
MOS MOSH has grown and changed throughout the years. We started as a small company with few employees, and today we are a prominent organisation in Denmark and worldwide. It has been a fantastic journey, but we stay humble, fair, and down-to-earth. We will continue our journey and are determined to be more responsible in how we do business. We are not perfect. But we want to lead the way in fashion and do even better as a part of our responsible journey. We have already taken some important steps and set ambitious goals for the coming year in our annual ESG report. We need to become the most responsible versions of ourselves, and it’s a continual process.

A Word with Louise Rohwer
Just like our collections, our inventory has a high focus on detail and impeccable quality. Louise Rohwer Sørensen is our Shop In Shop Responsible, and every day she strives to improve and develop our concepts. She has been a part of the MOS MOSH family since 2022 and has worked with retail shops and Shop-In-Shops for many years. We had a talk with her about her job as a Shop in Shop Responsible at MOS MOSH.
Can you describe your day-to-day as a Shop in Shop Responsible at MOS MOSH?
Every day is different. I work with shop-in-shops, showrooms, and fairs and handle everything from design to project management and buying. Besides that, I also have extra assignments like store giveaways and in-house practical ad hoc assignments.
What is especially fun when working with shop-in-shop concepts? And what is challenging?
I love that every project is unique and every day is different – some days, I work at the office and other days on the road. And I always have exciting projects on my table. Our DNA is strong and needs to be branded so customers can recognize a MOS MOSH shop every time they enter a shop-in-shop, even if there isn't a logo - This is a fun assignment that we constantly work on to approve. The challenging part is handling all the variated assignments and prioritising them to ensure everything happens at the right time.
How do you keep the MOS MOSH DNA in each project?
When it comes to our shop-in-shop concepts, we know that every customer is unique and has individual needs. Therefore, we must tailor every shop to the individual customer while ensuring our DNA is clear and our consumers can see who they are buying from. The MOS MOSH DNA is not only a visual thing but also a feeling customers need to receive when they meet us in the stores - This is not only done by our shop furniture but also by our merchandising of the clothes. So the shop furniture encloses the experience with great attention to detail, which MOS MOSH is known for. With every project, we look at design function, options count, and the customers travel through the shop - and it doesn't matter whether it's a 15 m 2 or 60 m 2 shop-in-shop.
How do you visualize each project?
Each project is visualized by me or externally, depending on the job's requirements. Sometimes we need to be more creative and get extern expertise for new inspiration in these situations. My job is then to make sure of the MOS MOSH DNA.
A word with Loise Læborg Madsen
Loise Læborg Madsen is Head of Design at MOS MOSH. She's a pattern-making expert and has worked within the design business for many years – first as a production controller and then afterward as a designer. She's been a part of the MOS MOSH family since 2014 and sees the construction of a product as equally important as the design. We had a chat with Loise about her job as Head of Design at MOS MOSH.
Can you describe your day-to-day as Head of Design at MOS MOSH?
The "red line" has to be undeniably visible to make good collections. This is my focus every day. In a team, it takes competent and confident designers to do this because they must be open-minded, understand the story, and yet still be confident enough to challenge it all.
What inspires you in your work?
Inspiration comes from many sides, e.g., street styling, visiting exciting cities, watching movies, etc. When we start a collection, we open our minds, and everything is translated into our MOS MOSH universe/Language. It is chaos in our heads for a while, but slowly it starts to come out as MOS MOSH styles.
MOS MOSH is known as a design-led company. What possibilities does it give the design department?
We are a design-led company, but we always cooperate with our sales department when brainstorming new collections. We listen and transform inputs into new ideas. It's never a one-person or one-department job in MOS MOSH – it's a clever and considered mix that has to feel right.
What is important when designing a MOS MOSH style? And what is the most fun?
Since the beginning, we have always aimed to make styles that have value by themselves. Each product must show "confidence" and be able to stand alone. In recent years, we have connected the styles more and more, and we are thinking much more about styling as an important element when creating. This is also fun and can sometimes give a style a new life.
What MOS MOSH design projects are you most proud of and why?
I'm proud of all our design projects and the collaboration throughout departments in MOS MOSH and no one doubts the effort we put into everything we produce or do. We have the same goal – delivering a great design/product/experience every time.
What's your creative process? How do you know the theme for every collection?
We research a lot and brainstorm across departments before starting a collection. It’s important for us to have feedback continuously from the end-costumer, as we are nothing without them. Great design needs to be fulfilled by a great, sometimes surprising, solution.
How do you keep the MOS MOSH design DNA in each collection?
For me, it's like having good chemistry. I think you feel it without really knowing how to describe it, like falling in love, meeting a new friend, or seeing a new dress you just need to have. The "attraction" is just there. Like this energy, the MOS MOSH story keeps the inspiration constantly flowing. It is also personal for me – I identify a lot with our "Muse," and we have gotten closer and closer through the years.
A word with Joanna Egeberg
Joanna Egeberg is Head of Marketing at MOS MOSH. She’s an expert in Art Direction and has worked with visual identity, brand management, and campaigns for the past 6,5 years. She’s been a part of the MOS MOSH family since 2019 and sees the omnichannel part of marketing as important to success with what she is doing. We talked with Joanna about what inspires and motivate her in her daily work as Head of Marketing.
What does a Head of Marketing do at MOS MOSH? Can you describe your day-to-day as a Head of Marketing at MOS MOSH?
First, I am beyond thankful for being responsible for art directing our identity. Not a day is the same when working as Head of Marketing at MOS MOSH. Every day I strive to keep our strong DNA and international mindset while creating new campaigns and strategies for MOS MOSH. In addition, I love telling visual stories about our collections and making them come alive through my ideas.
What inspires you in your work?
I think my inspiration comes from many places. I find a lot of inspiration for our travels from Instagram. Creative people use this platform to express themself, and I follow a lot of photographers and art directors to get inspiration. I get inspired by my surroundings. People in the streets, a great food experience, listening to podcasts, my friends, movies, and even my therapist, who gives me new perspectives to see the world, which I also use in my daily work. I love to inspire and be inspired by my team – it’s amazing seeing campaigns come alive and knowing everyone from my team had a role in it. Sharing is caring, and I guess it goes for the whole MOS MOSH family.
What MOS MOSH projects are you most proud of and why?
In October 2021, we launched over first activewear collection. This was new for MOS MOSH, so we wanted to do something different. Some weeks before the launch, we had a big shoot in Copenhagen with a female photographer and team with whom we had never worked with before. I wanted to create a new direction for the Heart activewear collection, and our main focus was to create a campaign that reflected our belief in a holistic way of being healthy. I am beyond happy about the result and the strong campaign video we did with five women telling what health meant to them.
What’s your creative process?
How do you know the visual theme of each collection, and how do you keep the MOS MOSH DNA? Every new campaign starts with a mood board to brainstorm all ideas. Furthermore, we always have a look at the collection we are going to work with. Sometimes I have my notebook filled with thoughts from the past half year, locations that have been saved, or old inspiration images - other times, I start from scratch. Most importantly, I have saved a whole archive with our brand books and catalogues from the past 13 years. It’s important that I can go back and see what worked before and incorporate things from earlier to ensure the MOS MOSH identity in the newer campaigns and, at the same time, refrain from repeating ourselves.
How was it to visualise our SS23 campaign?
As the collection is filled with a fresh combination of colours, I wanted to make this campaign a splash of colours with an artistic and creative expression in mind. That’s why I found the Majorcan countryside Deiá so inspiring, as it’s known for being a magnet for creative figures over the years.
How was it to visualise our HS23 campaign?
I had a clear idea that it should focus on self-love, which I believe is very important to work on. It’s your life, so why not make the best of it and prioritise yourself? We tend to think our surroundings should help us and deal with our emotions. Let’s focus more on how we feel. It’s not our job to decode others but to learn and understand ourselves. And this is what we try to visualise in our HS23 campaign.
A word with Loise Læborg Madsen & Helle Raakilde Hviid Christensen
We had a chat with Loise Læborg, Head of Design & shoe designer, and Helle Raakilde, Production Controller, about the things they focus on when designing shoes. Both have worked for many years with pattern making and have a high love for shoes. They see the construction of a product as equally important as the design, and like so many of our other products, they care about the beautiful process of making shoes.
What inspires you in your shoe collections?
Loise: The same woman we are designing garments for – strong, independent, lively, picky, and decisive. She is always there in everything we do. Our shoes should supplement and enhance our total look. We start with our clothes, and then shoes are added to complete the look.
What is especially fun when working with footwear? And what is challenging?
Helle: I love shoes and want to buy them all, so I want them to be comfortable and have beautiful crafts and details. The challenge with footwear is that all feet are different. So even though I'm a size 37 like many other women, the fit can be different for each person. I, therefore, need to consider if the feet should have a high instep and be wide or slim – then compromise to find the perfect fit. It's not possible designing the same shoe fit for all feet. Furthermore, a challenge with footwear is that you can't change the upper part without changing the shoe last and the sole. Because all parts depend on each other, there needs to be some tolerance in production.
What is your creative process behind every MOS MOSH shoe?
How do you keep the MOS MOSH DNA in each shoe design?
Loise: We have a clear DNA and a focus on being true to this daily. But this must not become equal to being predictable–this is an even more important focus for me. We want to be reliable but never boring. So it becomes a mix of knowing your background and challenging it daily. We strive to learn and become better all the time.
What makes shoes important in any wardrobe?
Helle: Footwear is almost the most important part! What you wear on your feet can change the whole outfit–dressing up or down and changing your appearance/expression, making you look posh or cool! Loise: I agree with Helle. This is the last detail that completes your styling/look.
Shoes are becoming a strong core in the MOS MOSH collections
The right shoes can often complete a look. Therefore, shoes are steadily becoming a strong core in the MOS MOSH collections. When it comes to our collections, a mantra has always been "it has to feel right"–and our shoes are no exception. All shoes are made by hand, and each shoe goes through several hands before the product is finished. It's all about finish and comfort, and of course, design, and we love being nerds with an extraordinary focus on each product. In addition, we love the relationship with our Portuguese suppliers, known for their craftsmanship and long history in making leather goods. We visit our suppliers twice a year, joining the production flow and watching our suppliers' incredible craftsmanship.
When choosing our materials, we primarily use leather. It's a durable and beautiful material to work with, as it gets a unique patina over time. Furthermore, we always choose natural materials such as cotton and braided raffia when designing our spring & summer collections, as these materials give a light and summerly look. Moreover, we often use recycled soles. Our clothing collections inspire our shoes. The shoes complement our various collections' silhouettes, colours, and looks.
A Word with Marlene Overgaard
Marlene Overgaard is our knit designer. She's a true knit nerd and expert and loves exploring new technologies and colours. She has been a part of MOS MOSH since 2018 and has worked with knitting for more than ten years. We had a chat with her about what inspires her work, what makes knit especially fun to work with, how to keep the MOS MOSH DNA in each knit design, and the journey of our popular Thora knit.
Who is your muse when designing? And what inspires you in your work?
My favourite designer is Ulla Johnson. I love her very feminine universe. Her designs are a big contrast to what I wear myself, but maybe that's why I like her collections so much. It's often a special fabric that inspires me or kickstarts my process. Sometimes it's a print, and other times it's a special knit texture. But in general, I get very much inspired by fabrics. I love visiting fabric fairs or having visits from fabric suppliers.
What is especially fun when working with knits?
Knit is fun to work with because of the many ways to combine yarns and mix different yarn qualities. Like mixing hairy yarn with plain yarn. It's a material with endless possibilities. I love textures and have a soft spot for soft hairy yarn, but I also like the sharp yarn in wool.
What is your creative process? And how do you keep the MOS MOSH DNA in each knit design?
When I start my creative process, I collect all sorts of pictures. My computer desktop is one big mess of pictures. It can be pictures from fashion shows, knit types, patterns, and prints. I've collected a lot of knit cuttings and yarn books over time. I like going through them when I start a new season. Sometimes I see something new and get inspired. I also have a brilliant knit supplier who is a true knit wizard. Every style must have a feminine touch to keep the MOS MOSH DNA. Then a bit of glam or a fresh colour combination.
From yarn to bestseller
The Thora Knit has been a classic staple at MOS MOSH since the spring collection in 2020. But where did it all begin, and how has Thora developed over the years?
When Marlene first designed the knit in two colours for SS20, she had no idea where it would go. Especially the German market loved the soft and fluffy knit from the start, and soon after, it became a key item in future collections. We asked Marlene why she thinks the knit has become so popular, and her response is simple; “It’s so lightweight and easy to style. You can wear it casually or dress it up depending on the styles you combine it with, and it’s easy to design in many beautiful colours”. Thora is spun from a soft mix of alpaca (Suri Alpaca, which is very exclusive, extra soft, and glossier) and wool and designed in top-dyed brush yarn that gives the knit a subtle colour play. “She is kind of a basic, an all-year/every year kind of knit,” says Marlene, and a knit she loves to design almost every season in new and beautiful colours and designs. Marlene has used the same supplier since the beginning because they are competent and very skilled in all kinds of knits and yarn qualities. At MOS MOSH, we believe things have to feel right. We celebrate good craftsmanship; therefore, the relationship with our suppliers is highly valued. According to Marlene, it’s an easy and exciting quality to develop, and Thora has now developed into a whole Thora program with hats, scarves, cardigans, and new jumper fits. These have been very positively received. We recently added the RWS, Responsible Wool Standard, to the new Thora program, which is ready for delivery in Autumn 2023.
A word with Dorthe Tørngren
Dorthe Tørngren is our CSR expert and has worked with design and CSR for many years. She's been a part of the MOS MOSH family since Autumn 2021 and works passionately to be the motivator of MOS MOSH's sustainable transformation. We had a talk with Dorthe about her job as CSR Responsible at MOS MOSH regarding, e.g., her next CSR projects and how she is following up on EU initiatives and regulations.
Can you describe your day-to-day as a CSR Responsible at MOS MOSH?
My job as a CSR responsible at MOS MOSH is very diverse. Daily, I navigate all the different aspects of working with CSR. I strive to work with a holistic approach, continuously integrating sustainability elements across our entire business. Daily, I spend my time monitoring and implementing EU initiatives and legislation, participating in webinars and network groups, and communicating with suppliers and 3rd party auditors to ensure that we meet the requirements set by the standards we are certified against.
What inspires you in your work?
The textile industry faces the most significant challenge with a tsunami of changes that will roll out from the EU in the coming years. We must prepare and adapt to be a resilient part of the future fashion industry. Textile production will increasingly move from voluntary sustainable initiatives to being regulated by EU law, such as EU's Textile-strategy and Eco-design regulation.
The EU strategy will focus on sustainable transition and responsible corporate behavior. A circular fashion industry that is embracing products designed to be sustainable, reusable, repairable, and energy efficient produced. On top of that, it focuses on the use of chemistry, avoiding fake green claims, empowering consumers, circular economy, human rights, climate, and environment. For me, it's extremely inspiring to be a motivator of this transformation.
Which MOS MOSH projects within CSR are you most proud of and why?
I am most proud of our 2021 ESG report so far. The ESG report includes our baseline starting point and sets the framework for our sustainability strategy named "2030 Roadmap". This roadmap defines our goals and addresses our commitment to environmental, social aspects, and governance initiatives. This report is a crucially important tool for daily navigating and follow-up.
What is especially fun, and what is most challenging?
The most challenging part of my job is to tailor my strategic role to the amount of space sustainable transition is given within the company and, from there, grow that space over time - step by step, creating an understanding and visualizing the importance of the green textile transition. At MOS MOSH, we are fully aware that we are not perfect. Still, we aim to do better. We are taking responsibility and making better daily choices by minimizing our environmental and social impact across our entire value chain.
What is the next project(s) within CSR?
My overall priority is ensuring that our goals come alive, making them a natural part of our DNA, and integrating the goals across the organization. Secondly, I look forward to representing MOS MOSH as a part of the Danish Ministry of the Environment and the textile industry's "Sectoral Cooperation." Across many textile companies, we will work together on three goals supporting the EU Commission's strategy for the green textile transition. The goals are Circular recycled materials, Circular design requirements, Circular consumption and resale.
HOW WE CARE
Since MOS MOSH was founded, fairness has been a cornerstone of our company. We care about each other’s well-being, and we care about the world we live in. At MOS MOSH, we have a strong responsibility towards the planet we pass on to our children.
We are fully aware that we are not perfect. Still, we’re committed to taking responsibility and making better daily choices by minimising our environmental and social impact across our entire business chain. To ensure our environmental goals, we publish an annual ESG report that provides detailed information about our strategy, policies, certifications, chemical testing program, fibre tool, human capital, and performance data. This report is an essential tool on our journey towards being more responsible.
Our certifications
MOS MOSH sees certifications as an important part of our responsible journey. For us, it’s a transparent and honest way to provide full traceability of the materials through all production stages. The various certificates embrace, among others, social responsibility, environmental impact, and/or animal welfare.
MOS MOSH is certified across eight internationally recognised standards.
GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard)
Why choose GOTS-certified clothing?
GOTS ensures that clothing is made with at least 70% organically grown clothing fibres. This means the clothing is produced without harmful synthetic pesticides, GMOs, or hazardous chemicals.
Social policies protect factory workers and farmers employed in GOTS production. GOTS ensures controlled working hours, fair salary payment, and safe and hygienic working conditions. Moreover, child labour and discrimination are strongly prohibited.
GOTS is a worldwide recognised certification that guarantees full traceability of the organic status through all production stages.
MOS MOSH certificate number is CU1088009GOTS-2022-00134106
OCS (Organic Content Standard)
Why choose OCS-certified clothing?
OCS ensures that clothing is made with at least 5% organically grown clothing fibres. Still, MOS MOSH raises the bar and sets the standard higher, ensuring that all our OCS-certified clothing contains at least 25% organically grown clothing fibres.
Organically grown clothing fibres are produced without harmful synthetic pesticides, GMOs (Genetically modified organisms), or hazardous chemicals.
OCS aims to increase organic farming production.
OCS is an internationally recognised certification that guarantees full traceability of the organic status through all production stages, from the farm to the final garment.
MOS MOSH certificate number is CU1088009OCS-2022-00134105
GRS (Global Recycle Standard)
Why choose GRS-certified clothing?
GRS labelling ensures that clothing is made with at least 50% recycled fibres.
The goal of GRS is to increase the use of recycled materials and reduce the harmful impact from production to people and the environment. GRS-certified production must have an environmental management system for chemicals, energy, water usage, air emissions, and waste.
Social policies protect waste collectors and factory workers employed in GRS production. GRS ensures controlled working hours, fair salary payment, and safe and hygienic working conditions. Moreover, child labour and discrimination are strongly prohibited.
GRS is a worldwide recognised certification that guarantees full traceability of recycled materials through all production stages, from collecting to clothing.

A word with Annette Svensk Rasmussen
Annette Svensk Rasmussen is our Jeans designer and is creative to the bone. She's been working with jeans at MOS MOSH for over five years – first as a production controller and then afterward as a designer. This combination makes Annette a true jeans expert, as she knows everything from production to design, creating the perfect jeans fit. We had a chat with Annette about what inspires her work, how to keep the MOS MOSH DNA in each jeans design, how to choose materials, and why jeans are important in the wardrobe.
Who is your muse when designing? And what inspires you in your work?
My muse is strong and confident. She's a woman who loves rock'n'roll and a cool look, and she's not afraid to stand out from the crowd. But she can also be feminine and show a more delicate side.
I get inspiration everywhere. The inspiration comes in various contexts, e.g., social media platforms, our MOS MOSH trend business trips to different European cities, when I'm walking in nature or watching a movie. It can be by small details, a shape, or a colour – almost all things can turn into creative thoughts, making new design ideas. Most importantly, I aim for my designs to give confidence and comfort.
What is especially fun when working with jeans?
Jeans are unique as they are essential in everybody's wardrobe. We can't live without them, and they are easy to dress up or down. Moreover, it's fun as the jeans trend is changing almost every season – working with jeans never gets boring or monotonous. As MOS MOSH is known for our small details and well-fitted designs, there are a lot of decisions regarding pockets, elements within the jeans, metal trim, and leather badges, which always is a fun process.
How do you keep the MOS MOSH DNA in each jeans design?
MOS MOSH has a strong DNA that has to be a part of our new designs, so it's clear to the customer that they are wearing MOS MOSH – this is mainly done through our recognizable small details, combined with new trends.
How do you choose material? And what is challenging when choosing materials?
I'm always looking for the best materials through our suppliers in the highest quality. The choice of fabrics depends on what look the jeans should have. Are they going to have a drapey look? A specific structure? A specific wash, touch, or colour?
Why are jeans important in any wardrobe?
Jeans are a must-have in every wardrobe. First, because of the multiple looks you can create with jeans. Furthermore, the different fits that make it easy to find the perfect fit, no matter your body shape. Moreover, jeans are always on-trend, as they never go out of style. Therefore, they are always in the fashion universe, even though they might have various looks.
