Il contingente diventa neccesario. Universita IUAV di Venezia. Ever since man became a producer of culture, has not been able to avoid fragmenting nature. The mere fact of naming things means to remove them from being entwined into the world. Then, men send things to submit to a classification. The study of the compositional quality of the Palladian church of San Francesco della Vigna, gave rise to the intersemiotic translation that Giulia Testori has converted into a small piece for violin. Ilaria Consolaro used a similar pattern to compose a little choreography for one dancer. Once composed the choreography, she danced and filmed it. The two translations originally developed in separate contexts, (dance and music), were superimposed on a video called “Il Contingente diventa Necesario” (The contingent becomes neccesary”). What is surprising is the strong sync between music and choreography when they are superimposed together. The overlap was random, both students did not work together, yet the result was perfectly paced and measured, the sounds corresponded fully to the movements of the dancer.
