FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Is a UV System required, and what does UV address in water?
Answer: It is optional but strongly suggested (especially in private well applications) and will address bacteria in water (boil water advisory)
What is the primary info I should gather from our customer before final recommendation?
Answer: Most important is sizing information (people and bathrooms) and any other complaints or concerns they have(letters received from town regarding water quality). (See Site Survey Form).
Can we apply these recommendations to third party lab tests sent to us? Or only the tests we do in house?
Answer: In most cases yes, but it is important to make sure to gather as much info on site (Site Survey) and ensure the date on the test isn’t to old (over 1 year).
If we receive a letter regarding water quality from a town (city) water application how should we address it?
Answer: Ask the customer to see a copy of the report then we can proceed with a recommendation once we know what the town has identified.
What if a customer requests us to test for specific contaminant that they suspect is in their water? Lead, PFAS/PFOA for example
Answer: Strongly suggest a third party lab test be done (Alpha, Delta, or Nelson Analytical labs for instance). Then we can help provide counsel on best steps to proceed based on those results.
Our customers sent in a water test because of a complaint of a bad smell only, is that common, and can we test for bad smell?
Answer: Yes, technically you can test for smell, through third party lab only, but the best detection is on site with a smell test because that is most accurate. If its city water we can typically isolate the issue to the HOT WATER SIDE only. If a Tank type water heater proceed with changing out the Anode Rod (to aluminum or powered rod).
