23 - J.N. COOPER MASSIVE PROTOTYPE CONTEMPORARY BOWIE CALLED THE “IRON MISTRESS”. Saber ground clip point blade. Handled in brown micarta with heavy brass C-guard, heavy brass pommel, and brass escutcheon. Factory flaw but otherwise mint. No sheath. Factory letter of authentication included. Reads “This iron mistress was the first one made by John N Cooper in Burbank, California. It was the style he chose to make. Unfortunately, he used the wrong brazing rod. It was mixed up with the type he always used. He decided to keep it as a model to go by instead of destroying it. It is a prototype and a true collector piece. Yours Truly, George J. Cooper.”. Handled in sectioned burl and brown micarta. Heavy brass mounts with figural crown in the shape of a double eagle head. Butt cap made of mineral. Only Cooper battle ax ever made.
