1677 - FULL BODY FOLK ART COPPER COCKEREL WEATHER VANE. Mid-20th century. French or possibly Canadian. An interesting and unique form with pronounced molded comb and wattle. The seams are joined by rivets, the sheet copper tail also riveted, the tail feathers hammered. Offered with a museum stand. From a private west coast collection. The clock has white porcelain dial with enamel decoration, marked “COMPTOIR GENERAL, J. PRATT PARIS”. the clock has white onyx urn at the top with ormolu mounts. Accompanied by a pair of matching white onyx candlesticks with ormolu decoration and candle cups. Key is present. Minor roughness to edges and corners of onyx, a back corner of clock platform with old repair, otherwise very good. 1680 - WATERBURY INLAID ROSEWOOD AND WALNUT SHORT DROP WALL CLOCK. Mid 19th century. Connecticut. The circular dial with roman numeral chapter ring and single winding aperture marked with the Waterbury clock company logo beneath the numeral 12, set within a walnut frame with rosewood veneers above the throat with a hinged viewing door with glass panel above a simple frieze with conforming decoration. The clock with a key-wind 8-day brass movement, time only. Size: 27” L. x 17” W. Condition: Clock has not been inspected, and so operational abilities are unknown. Clock is accompanied by a key and pendulum. Case has been refinished and re-polished. Dial is original and somewhat yellowed with age, otherwise very good. 27” x 16 - 1/2” x 4 - 1/2”.
